Part 64: Forest Heart - recap

Mission Recap

Game film: LP Forest Heart (TFL 1.5)

Yay forest giants! These units are tons of fun. Stomp stomp stomp smack smack smack. They seem to not be on the best of terms with the trow (because trow developed technology?), which is good news for us.

With the giants, this is not a hard mission to beat. It becomes quite interesting though if you try for minimal casualties. The key is that you have just enough FG health to absorb all the trow-pounding and save your zerks from being kicked to pieces. To avoid losing an FG, you need to get the zerks to help with each trow ASAP, and you also don't want to waste too much FG health fighting smaller units.

I did OK but not ideally on both of those latter goals; if we get a rematch in a future mission I'll see if I can improve.

By the way: although it's not a factor in this mission, one notable difference between FGs and trow is that FGs can be paralyzed. In multiplayer this makes for some interesting rock-paper-scissors, since weak little ghôls can carry & throw wight bits that paralyze your power unit.

As for the widget that Soulblighter (handsome fellow) unearthed and employed, that's the Tain, which was mentioned in passing in the backstory at the beginning of this LP. More on that soon.
