Part 67: 7/8/09

7/8/09

With all this fighting it’s easy to forget summer’s almost here.

Loud Student: Sounds cool to me! I wanna go to the sea, the mountains, everywhere!
But, before that… we’ve got finals starting on Tuesday.
Gossiping Student: Ugh, I’d forgotten about that.
But that means a break after the exams! And summer vacation is just around the corner!
> The first bell has rung.

Harder to forget that finals are coming up.

Well, maybe “pain” wasn’t the word I’m looking for. English phrases are pretty tricky…
Now, let’s talk about comma splices.
I’m sure you’ve heard all about them before, but to review…
A comma splice is when two independent clauses are joined by a comma, with no conjunction.
Okay, Aelita!
Here’s a question for you… Dun dun dunnn!
Which of these phrases is incorrect?
“I failed, it’s over now.”
Whoa! I didn’t think you’d get it! Good for you!
That’s a comma splice.
…Got it?
If no one has any questions, let’s move on.

Maybe I’m just too tired but I had trouble not laughing after that. Anyway I headed down to Fashion Club for a bit to hang with Bebe.

> Which of the things you have made do you want to make again?
Knit rabbit.
I am ‘appy to be able to see your work again.
Go a’ead and start making it.
> You decided to make this quickly, with Bebe’s encouragement.
> Your experience in sewing allows you to make it faster than you did last time.
> Obtained Knit Rabbit.
> You could give this to someone while on a date…
Zat speed, zat beauty… Aelita-sama, you are indeed superb!
Next, we shall make somezing big!
Hrrrmmmmm…
…I know! You will make ze scarf!
‘Appiness will come to girls who can knit scarves!
…Zat is what my aunt said.
I want you to become ‘appy…
Zat is… ‘Ow I truly feel…

I think Bebe was sort of thrown off his game by talking about his aunt, though.

Um… Wakarimasen… I do not understand…
Ze sweing machine won’t go…
Why don’t you rest?
Yes… Zat eez a good idea. …Sorry! Gomenasai!
> Bebe seems happy.
I am worried about my uncle…
‘Ow can I convince ‘im to let me say ‘ere?
If I became a samurai, maybe I could stand up to ‘im…
…Oh!
Maybe if we go to ze Sweet Shop and ‘ave a snack, I can come up wiz a plan!
Shall we!?
That’s a great idea.
Yatta! Let’s go!
> Bebe seems excited.
> You decide to go to the Sweet Shop with Bebe after finishing your work.

He’s still not sure how he can convince his uncle to let him stay.

I will be disappointed if I ‘ave to return to my country!
I want to say ‘ere in Nihon even if I ‘ave to eat dirt!
I’m behind you.
Arigatou! Zank you! I can do anyzing with your support, Aelita-sama!
> Bebe seems very happy.
Jitsu wa, actually… I ‘ave a plan!
I will return ‘ome…
Mochiron, of course, I will not give up just like zat!
I will come back ‘ere after persuading my uncle!
I will convince ‘im ‘ow great Japan eez!
Now, I just ‘ave to figure out ‘ow to explain it to ‘im.
Zat will be easy with your ‘elp, Aelita-sama!
Please help me! Onegaishimasu!
> It seems like Bebe is counting on you.
> Your relationship is stronger now!

He should definitely try to talk with him about it, though.

...Ze sun is setting.
I will see you again… Aishitemasu!
> You decide to go back to the dorm.

Fuuka and Yukari are up to something, not sure what.

Sorry, I need to talk to Fuuka…
About what?
Oh, um, there’s something I have to clear up.
Everyone must be tired after the mission…
Please get a good night’s rest…

The news was talking about our handiwork again.

Newscaster: Mysterious vandalism has occurred at the hotel Champs de Fleurs.
Mirrors in the hotel rooms were shattered.
Though the hotel had many guests, none of them saw the culprit.
Some guests have also reported theft in their rooms.
Police are currently investigating the incident.

I’m not sure where Mitsuru is, but she’s definitely not around here.

Just take it easy for now.

Junpei’s still being a jerk.

I don’t feel like talking to anyone…

Oh, I headed down to talk with that woman in the club, she’s right enough to be interesting.

Yes, please!
Woman: Very well…
Shadows within shadows… Many shadows crawl amidst the immense shadow…
Twelve shadows, feasting upon the heart of man… Monstrous, yet dignified…
They gather around you… Beware…
Farewell, then… May your future be bright…

I headed over to talk with Elizabeth a bit, she’s got some new requests for me but I’ll start on those tomorrow I think. I did a bit of work in the café and went back, not much going on fortunately.
