Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team

Part 74: An apology and an end.

This is painful for me to write, but I think it's for the best: I'm bringing this LP to a close.

There are multiple reasons for this. One is that I've grown less interested in playing the game; there are a lot of random dungeons after the credits, and most of the plot events are 'oh look a legendary showed up, go check it out', and the story's what motivates me.

Another is that people seem to have lost interest in the LP. I know some of you are still busily in hopes of an update, but the ready flow of fanart every time I put a new chapter up has died off, and not even asking the artists directly for more contributions has helped... and it seems more and more the only posts are from goons who want their missions done.

Also, there's Spore; I haven't been this absorbed by a game in a long while, and I'm very carefully thinking about what sort of critter I want to mold into a galactic empire.

So does this mean the LP is abandoned? I don't think so. We reached the credits, and Jake and Sheldon have a happy ending. Sure, there's one plot point unresolved (which I'll spoil somewhere in the epilogue, fair warning), but to get there we'd have to beat several more dungeons and have several more plot events happen.

I'm going to leave the LP open for a bit in case anyone wants to submit some last-minute fanart. I have a few pieces I haven't used yet, so I'll put them here:

Jake, pre-evolution, hugging Brenda the Bulbasaur (thanks, Lobst!)

and another hug of Tauros (thanks, I_is_barbeque!)

I want to thank everyone who contributed to the thread, especially all the excellent fanartists. I've learned a lot about doing LPs from doing this one, and should I do PMD2 (and I still want to), I intend to carry those lessons forward. There'll be a lot less filler and a lot more meat, or at least I hope so.

I apologize to everyone I've disappointed by making this decision. Thank you all for reading, and I'll see you around the LP forum!
