So the common rat actually becomes not too bad. For this part of the game, these stats are really good. Later on? Nnnnno. But a cool bit of trivia, Raticate is both stronger and faster than Pidgeot, so out of the two to choose, this is the better one. Well, technically, Pidgeot is a bit more useful with Fly and with Flying STAB in general. Raticate can learn plenty of TMs, but the only one of note that isn't Normal is Dig. So, not too great. This thing will be more useful to you than Butterfree, at least.
