Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga

Part 113: More crawling in an airport.

Update 59:

Nyx is certainly very different from the Persona 3 incarnation. Very. Same model as in Nocturne, though, where she is a bartender (and Loki is there, getting shitfaced)
Wikilink

Well, let's see what lies beyond it. It can't be too bad, can it?

That is rather unlikely, methinks.

This is actually a proper mid-boss fight.
But I did not capture it. My bad.
It is kind of silly, though, since Kali is apparently reflective of all magic elements. Silly me.

Dakini is not immune or reflectant, though. Wikilink
And like everything that doesn't reflect phys, Divine Light works wonders on them.

Clearly getting a mind charaged spell is not the best idea.

I don't learn, do I?

Revival Beads and gems are pretty awesome. Fortunately, unlike Nocturne and Persona 3, if the main dies, it is not a game over.
Not like Serph was dead there, no. (Hell, he got better from a cutscene death.)

Note: Don't do that.

Note: Do this.

Chi Blast works wonders against frozen arahabakis.

That is more than moderately annoying.

But in the end, as expected, everything falls before the Divine Light.

But notice: It is becoming slightly less effective. That does not bode well.

Levelups as usual.

It is considerably more possible to reach full pointage in this game than in Devil Survivor.

DO NOT reproduce my error, get at least 16 on everything, then 40 on mag, then put all the rest of the points in whatever you want.
(Dumping the rest on Vitality was a good idea for the secret boss)

For the party's convenience, escalators temporarily stairs.
Well, permanently now. No juice and all that.

Ring upgrading time, since I was an idiot and had no ring on Serph, and Sera's ring is to be upgraded.

That should be enough.

Should the other 3 equipped rings be upgraded similarly?

About time one of these appeared.

OOoh a new ring, let's see what it does.

That sounds good. It really isn't all that good, though.
It does not make the two actions take just one press turn, it is a full turn per action.
Of course, if it is a critical hit or a weakness hit, that would be a single turn.
But I don't really like it all that much.

Levels in DDS take considerably less experience than in Baldur's gate.
Of course, considering the setting, they are not THAT ridiculously overpowered as the characters get in Baldur's Gate in the 30s-40s range.
(Why yes I do like the Rogue Trap HLAs. They are nice)

More and more corridors. They never end.
At least the layout is relatively sane.

Oh boy. An ambush!

Well since the entire objective of going into the airport is to pretty much commit suicide with the expectation that it will allow them to somehow stop the sun from killing things, surrendering would be a bad idea.

Not like the current plan makes a ton of sense either, but hey, at least it is a plan.

They become a pair of everyone's favorite creepy-as-shit furries.
I saw a similar character design in a comic once, Crossing Midnight. Creepiest werewolves ever.
Couldn't find a single issue of it after that one I got though, so I don't know what the hell all that was about. I just know that the design was more than eerily reminiscent to the Flauros.

Sera likes eating creepy anthropomorphic feline demons of what.

This is a locked door.

This will make the inevitable backtracking easier.

Right next to the big terminal.

This one will have to wait a while.

And so will this.
This is considerably less horrible than the previous dungeon.

And considerably less than the next. Oh yes.
