Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga

by Luisfe

Part 119: Entering the sun.

Update 65

This is the current time investment and such. Had not shown the file selector screen because Seraph's icon would be kind of spoily.
In any case, let's advance.

Well, it seems that Johnny died not so long ago as well.

"The shop is wherever I decide it is. Yea, even if I'm dead...
This is serious business, remember that."

Ooookay. That is kind of creepy.
But how the hell did he bring the goods with him when he died? And what use could he have for money in the GODDAMN SURFACE OF THE SUN?

"In business and in life, real value is determined by a single word...
I don't have much left to say, but I'm not worried about my family.
I'm sure that they're proud of me."

Selling this flower is definitely productive. Lotus will still be kept for a while, though.

And then, buying EXPENSIVE shit. We want to reach the last level, you know?

But first:

"Go on, Sera... Serph..."

Well, that was certainly clarifying.

Buying even more expensive crap.

"I can't offer you anything else, but my shop's open for serious business. Don't be a stranger."

I don't think I ever bought one of these. Maybe in a later point I will check it.

This is worth every single monetary unit it costs. It is useful.

Convenient, and if Nocturne had something like it that could be used on the main, I WOULD certainly grind for such an item.

More bullets.

And goddamn awesome rings. Expensive, but pretty damn nice. Combined with the new high level stones that enemies drop would be a wise investment.

Not like Seraph is ever going to take the Skull ring out, though.

"You're at the highest rank."

Well, time to go in.
Meet Seraph's many forms (Youtube)
I messed up while recording, so there was no audio (Veoh)
And it was easier to just put a music track instead of rerecording them. Lazy, you see.

On the other hand, I learned (or remembered how to do it) how to do what I wanted to do on the GALE INTERROGATES video. May eventually do it properly.

Seraph goes down, to the core of the Sun.

And there is something there waiting such a presence.

Seraph's transformation sequence is pretty damn cool.

Aaaand there it is.

Ardhanarishvara.
Also known just as Ardha.

BEHOLD THE SMT2 ERA ARTWORK FOR IT.

Wikilink
Rather appropriate, I would say.

That Kingu is gonna get destroyed.

Seraph's Human form is, well, Seraph.

But Seraph needs no gun.

Seraph, being one of the enlightened sorts, fires bullets from hir hands.
WITH HIR MIND.

Kingu dies.

NOTICE: The video contains more material.

Once Kingu is gone, the area can be explored.

"I'm so full of regret."
This dude provides an awesome ring if the conditions are met.
The conditions are insanely hard to fulfill, though.
If only for one reason, the condition is to get all the other rings. And to do that, one must beat the demi-fiend on DDS1.
If one manages to do it and get the Amala Ring on DDS2, and subsequently the OTHER rings as well, this dude gives the MASTER ring.
It nullifies everything, except almighty. So it is Masakados without the stat bonus.

FAKE EDIT apparently DDS1 bonus rings are not needed so maybe that can be acquired in this playthrough. Will investigate further.

huh. This dude died too.

"I died chasing after my hee-ho bro. That's Johnny, y'know?
After I took on this form, hee ho balls started coming out of my hee-hat!
I guess it's a pearl or something, ho...
I can only sell one, but it's yours for just $50,000 ho!"

But... He's dead.
Moving on.

Mantras for corpses.

Mind Charge is very, very useful. Worth getting.
Cheap at this point, too.

Oh my.

Oh my. (Only useful Expel skill)

Oh my.
Argilla with it would be brutal, I guess.

When the floor is red, it means it is a damage field.

Seraph is not bound by petty things like gravity. Seraph glides effortlessly.

I believe this is in the video.

REINCARNATE summons the spirit of Hari-Hara, Angel's composite demon form.

Heavy damage, more than enough to softem them up for snacking.

Gale gets no fun for Pyryphlegeton, a river from Hell in this turn. No, it is time for the Seraph Lore.

Argilla, similarly summons the ghost of Jinana.

And lastly, Gale gets to show off Pyriphlegethon.

Lupa is behind him

And it finishes up the job quite nicely.

In the sun, strange containers become flowers.

How nice, a stone.

How so very nice, Argilla can have a fun time with these guys.
And so she does.

"Sakura Rage
Attack All
Close Call"

Well, that shit is expensive.

I wonder what Double Repel does..
Or Deploy. That will have to be seen later since there isn't even enough money to buy it.

Instead, Seraph gets a hama-type mantra.

Bah.

Note this is also in the video.
SERAPH. BERSERK FORM.

Seraph's arms think they are the head of the Xenomorph. Only spikier.

It is fairly interesting to see it.

Very nice.

BONUS: Not on video since it lacked sound.

GAME OVER SCREEN. Interpret it at will.

The mysterious cat with bells, sitting in a lotus flower.

Disappointed at the abject failure.

Fades to data while a mantra is displayed.
Wait what?
