Part 16

Datenshi Ukobach
-Agi
-Maha Agi
-De Kunda
-Mapper

Ukobach is somewhat weak, but packs the very useful De Kunda spell, which heals stat debuffs on your party. He's pretty much destined for the fusion room by this point.

Soon, Reiko has enough Guardian Points to upgrade, and I send her to her death.

JESUS FUCK

Reiko:
Though I was dead, didn't you?

Guardian Tawaret
A strong Guardian who teaches Reiko the spells Tetraja, Medirama, Raku Kaja and Calmdi. Tetraja, Medirama and Raku Kaja are excellent spells: they protect from instant death, heal the whole party and boost the party's defences respectively.
Unfortunately, this also means that Reiko is now a huge fatty on the inside. Oh Reiko, first we take away your thigh-bearing skimpy armour, and now this. In fact, Tawaret is such a fat that she drops Reiko's speed one point.

Wikipedia posted:

n Egyptian mythology, 'Tawaret' (also spelt Taurt, Tuat, Taueret, Tuart, Ta-weret, Taweret, and Taueret, and in Greek, Thoeris and Toeris)her name in English is famously known as Manufiki. She was originally the demon-wife of Apep, the original god of evil. Since Apep was viewed as residing below the horizon, and only present at night, evil during the day was envisaged as being a result of Tawaret's malificence. As the counterpart of Apep, who was always below the horizon, Tawaret was seen as being the northern sky, the constellation roughly covering the area of present-day Draco, which always lies above the horizon. Thus Tawaret was known as mistress of the horizon, and was depicted as such on the ceiling of the tomb of Seti I in the Valley of the Kings. In art, Tawaret was depicted as a composite of all the things the Egyptians feared, the major part of her being hippopotamus, since this is what the constellation most resembled, with the arms and legs of a lioness, and with the back of a crocodile. On occasion, later, rather than having a crocodile back, she was seen as having a separate crocodile resting on her back, which was thus interpreted as Sobek, the crocodile-god, and said to be her consort.

We continue on, deeper and deeper into the labyrinth.

Datenshi Ukobach and Tenshi Holy Ghost appeared!

And the enemies just get weirder. This is also a pretty weird combination for an SMT game, because these demons are of opposing alignments.

What's this? A lab in the pits of the dungeon?

Suspecting that something's up, Tammy summons the devils Ihika, Jack Frost, Alp and Gagison to fill out the party.

Otsuki:
How could I lose to those brats...?
Now that I've remodelled my wounded body, I can beat the---
Aargh! What are you doing here?!
Well, no matter. You've saved me the trouble of finding you!
There is no scientific basis that you'll be able to beat me now that I'm powered up!

Remodelled Professor Otsuki appeared!

We manage to defeat Otsuki easily by concentrating gun fire on him while Jack Frost and Alp built up our defences and magic power, and then crushing him with an all-out magical assault with our strongest spells.

Otsuki:
...I lost again...
But fighting the Demon Emperor will gain you nothing! I won't forget this!

Tammy received the MicroPlasma.

Tammy backtracks a bit and explores another area she branched off from before. Along the way, she recruits a Holy Ghost. Being Law aligned, it won't fit in with our mostly Chaotic party (Datenshi are like that vv), so it's going straight to the Jakyo when we have time.

Shiki Zombie Girl and Shiki Zombie Teacher appeared!

satsunote: I first played this game in high school, and always loved running into Zombie Teachers.
Tammy talks to the Zombie Teacher.

Zombie Teacher:
Want me to become your minion?

>Yes

Zombie Teacher:
It's best to have a lot of friends...

> Zombie Teacher called an ally!

I guess there really is not much point in reasoning with the dead.

We blow the zombies up with some fire magic and step over the ashes, pressing on.

Shortly afterwards, we recruit a Maju Cat Sidhe after a difficult conversation.

Majuu Cat Sidhe
-Taru Kaja
-Suku Kaja
-Media
-Mapper
-Scratch

A decent all-rounder, but slightly underpowered for this stage. Very useful stat boosters and healing spell, though.

Eventually, we make back down to the very bottom of the dungeon again. We open a door to reveal...

Orcus:
RHEEEEEEE! I'm hungry! FEED ME! Need more FOOD! I'm hungry! FEED ME!
FEED ME! FEED ME!
NOW!
I'M HUNGRY! RHEEEEE!

Two small helpers bring Orcus a huge trough of food.

Orcus:
YAAAAY! IT'S HERE! IT'S HERE!
I'M GONNA EAT GONNA EAT GONNA EAT
AUGHGGHGHchomp chomp chomp...

Tammy leaves the room. That was pretty gross. In the next room...

> Use the MicroPlasma?

> Tammy used the MicroPlasma.
The party shrank down and slipped into the food.

The screen goes dark.

Mr Cook Number 1:
We're making food for Orcus.

Mr Cook Number 2:
Orcus eats so, so much, it's so hard on us.

Orcus' Voice:
FEED ME, FEED ME!
NOW!
I'M HUNGRY! RHEEEEEE!!

Mr Cook Number 1:
Hey, Orcus is done eating again!

Mr Cook Number 2:
Let's take the next meal to Orcus!

Mr Cook Number 1 and Number 2:
Take the food, take the food, take the meal to Orcus!

Orcus:
YAAAAY! IT'S HERE! IT'S HERE!
I'M GONNA EAT GONNA EAT GONNA EAT
AUGHGGHGHchomp chomp chomp...

> The party entered Orcus' body.

Oh, YUCK.
