Not only that, but we actually want information BACK from the battle group. Sending a burst message would just be asking "did we really just shoot at a friendly sub ?" and then hanging up before we get the answer. Enough bad things are happening to our career without beating it dead with a wrench.

Fuck rocketpedos basically. Fun trivia, the USN adapted ASROC to launch from Terrier AA launchers. Combining launchers saves a shitload of space on very tight late 50s/early 60s missile ships.
