Better luck next time, Valua. Maybe they'll have built a Grand Fortress that can hold us by then.

Yes, and I'm happy that we're all together again!

Some of us are happier than others...

Yes, she's rubbing her cheek on his arm. No, she's not going to stop. Ever.

Out of one prison, into the next.

Hahaha! What's wrong, Gilder? You guys make a cute couple.

I am very happy for you, Clara.

Oh, thank you, Fina! This is too good to be true! This is the happiest day of my life!!!

Well, since we have a new ship, I believe it's time to decide on a captain. Even though this is my ship, I am not an experienced sailor. I would feel more comfortable with someone else at the helm.

I know who I'd cast my vote for.

I agree with Aika. I would feel the most comfortable with you as our captain.

I know that I just met you, but there's something about you... I think you would make an excellent captain.

You're a great sailor, Vyse, and a good leader. I think you'd make a great captain.

Well, it seems unanimous... Vyse, will you accept the responsibility of being Captain of the Delphinus?

Rule one of leadership: Never, ever act uncertain of anything.

And honestly, it makes perfect sense for Vyse to be captain. The only other candidates are Gilder and Clara, and they already have ships of their own. Also, Vyse is the only one who can wear the Captain's Hat.

That's what I wanted to hear! Besides, wasn't it your dream to be the captain of your own ship someday? Oh yeah! The Delphinus is going to need a new flag!

You're right Aika! Every crew should have a flag that symbolizes what they stand for. Why don't we start working on one now? The Delphinus should have a flag as soon as possible.

You're right. I think Vyse, Aika and Fina should get together and design our new flag. Being a prince of Valua, I don't think it is my place to design an Air Pirate's flag, but I can judge any ideas that you have.

Sure, why not? It will be fun! Just give it a try. Hey, Vyse. I want to take a look around the Delphinus!

I think we all should.

Not that he has an ulterior motive for splitting up, of course.

Sounds good to me! Break time, everyone! Meet back at the bridge when you're done.

Alright, time to explore the sweetest ship in the skies! You've probably noticed by now, but the game is really good about giving you a free Moonberry at around the same time as each new character. We don't officially have Enrique in the party yet, but when we do the Moonberry will be waiting for him.

Strangely, the lid to the opposite number of the Moonberry compartment seems to be rattling...

Buh?

Marco! What are you doing here?!

I heard that the prince's ship was finished and was being prepared for departure. So, I snuck on board and I was planning on escaping Valua in it. Well, I'd heard that the prince was a really nice guy, so I figured he wouldn't kill me for trying to escape. Well, at least not right away. But I never would've thought that you, of all people, would get your hands on this ship! At least now I don't have to go looking for you! I'm gonna travel along with you whether you like it or not. But don't worry... I'll stay outta your way, okay?

Heh... You're pretty pushy there, kid. Ah, why not... I'll make you my first crew member!

Our first crew member, a snot-nosed brat! I'll explain exactly what this means a bit later, but for now let's just keep exploring the ship.

The lookout tower! Complete with temporary lookout Enrique.

The kitchen/bar/dining room! This was the prince's personal flagship, after all, so you'd expect it to be pretty luxurious.

The main deck! This serves as the battleground for random encounters.

There's also a Cham lurking on the deck, hidden in plain sight. Speaking of which, I think a new ship calls for a new Cupil. One Cham isn't enough to evolve him to his next form, but there is another way.

As I mentioned before, Choms cause poor Cupil to regurgitate every Cham you've ever fed him back into your inventory, and if you're clever about how you feed him you can get a different form to last time. More specifically, feeding certain forms an Abirik Cham makes Cupil evolve into a different form with its own evolutionary path, leading us to...

The Cupil Pan! It's even more powerful and accurate than the Cupil Spike, which is saying something. Also pictured: The reason why the Dralkor Tank can be so tough – I totally forgot to re-equip Aika and Fina after rescuing them.

Anyway, that's all there is to see for now, so let's get going!

I've seen pretty much all I wanted to see. What did you want to talk to me about?

I'm leaving. I'm going to head back and meet up with the Claudia.

What?!

I figured this is probably my only chance to escape from Clara. I don't think I'm ready to settle down just yet.

Sure you are. You guys make a really cute couple.

Hahaha... alright, alright. Sorry, I couldn't resist. But seriously, we're all going to miss you.

Thanks. Before I go, I have three pieces of advice for you. First... You'll need to get a crew.

A crew?

Get a good watchman, a cook, a gunner... I'm sure there are plenty of skilled sailors out there who will join the fight against Valua. If you run into anyone who can help you, bring them aboard. The more crew members that you have, the better your ship will operate.

You'll need a place to repair your ship, and your crew will need warm beds and warm meals every once in a while. Your father has his own base, right? You said it was on Pirate Isle. Well, you'll need your own headquarters as well. What about that deserted island that I found you on? I believe it's called Crescent Isle... That island looks just about right. Why don't you head back there?

I don't know if you've realized it yet, but you've accomplished a lot so far... especially for someone your age.

For some reason, everyone seems to follow you, myself included. Even though you're a little crazy. Actually... it's because no matter what happens, you never give up. Anytime something stands in your way, you never let it stop you. Your crew knows that you will always do everything in your power to protect them. I can tell by the way they all look at you.

You'll probably run into things ten times more dangerous than you've already faced, but no matter what happens, don't give up! If you follow my advice, you'll accomplish things that you've never even dreamed of...

Thank you...

Oh, Gilder! Where are you?

Oh no! It's Clara! Sorry, Vyse... I can't stay and chat any longer. She'll catch me and it'll be all over!!!

I usually just sail around in search of fun, but the time I spent sailing with you... ... was probably the most fun I've ever had. Keep it up, kid!

Thanks for everything, Gilder.

Uh, um... He said that he was... um... going back to the Claudia.

What?! Well, I've got to catch him right away! He's not getting away from me that easily.

Alright... let's go!! Full speed to Crescent Isle!!!

Alright! Time to take the Delphinus for a spin! Before that though, let's take a gander at the Air Pirate Formerly Known as Prince.

Enrique's stats are...mediocre. He's average at everything, being weaker on attack and defence than Vyse, but better at magic. He's also a little on the slow side.

Like all the characters he comes with his own unique set of equips. Enrique's rapiers are unusual – they tend to be slightly less powerful than Vyse's cutlasses, but they all inflict a status effect of some kind.

Like Vyse, Enrique's first special is a rather stylish single-target beatdown. Strangely, it costs more SP than Cutlass Fury but is actually less powerful, so there's really no reason ever to use it over that. If you have enough SP to use both, though, go for it.

Taste my blade!

It at least looks pretty neat, and of course I'll have it in a video before too long.

And on the subject of showing things off, CLONG.

And with that, we're off!

The hull hasn't been fully reinforced yet, so it would probably be impossible to fly through stone reefs at this point. And the engine's output settings haven't been properly adjusted yet either, so we probably won't be able fly through sky rifts. However, if we can find some way to fix the hull and the engine, I'm sure sky rifts and stone reefs would pose no problem for this ship.

Not to worry, it's only a short jaunt over to Crescent Island, with nary a sky rift or stone reef to block our way.

Looks like someone is a little airsick. Perhaps all of this traveling is a little rough for our sheltered Prince.

I don't think Enrique even realised she was taking a dig at him. It's not something a prince would encounter much.

I... I never realized that sailing could be so... so... rough. But this was my... decision... I can't let a little airsickness... slow me down... Ungh...!!!

Enrique... Are you going to be alright?

Well, it looks like this is going to be a long trip for Enrique.

Yeah, don't worry Enrique. Once you get used to sailing, you won't get sick as easy. I'm sure you'll be okay.

Gilder told us that you needed a crew. We're here to report for duty.

That's a nice lookin' ship! If you want, I can get it running smoother than ever! Crank it up a few notches... give it more power...

I just love that philosophy. You just got the most powerful ship in the world? Time to make it even better!

I'll build some buildings for you! You're going to need a base, right?

Uhh... sure... thank you.

Leave it up to us!!! ... But, before we get started, we'll need some funds to cover expenses and labor. First, I'll fortify the hull of your ship so you will be able to pass through the stone reefs. Then, I will upgrade your engine so... You'll be powering through sky rifts in no time. But it will cost you... 25,000 gold.

I plan to build you a port and some living quarters first. Let's see... Cha-ching! I'll need about 75,000 gold. What a bargain!

What?! So all together, we'll need to give you 100,000 gold?!

Well, the Delphinus does need some modifications and we are going to need more than a couple of caves to call this a base...

Enrique is right. Let's put off our search for the other Moon Crystals until we can get 100,000 gold to pay these... umm... gentlemen.

Oof. 100,000 is a hefty wad of cash. Normally you would probably spend a while flying around hunting for discoveries and bounties to scrape up enough funds, but fortunately I took precautions on the way past Nasrad.

Cha-CHING. Presumably this is one of the gold Ducats after which he's named, but knowing Daccat it's probably gold foil over wax chocolate.

Guildmaster: Really? You will sell it to me?! This is wonderful! People have been searching for this coin for ages! Thank you so much!!

And with that, we'll be paying for both the ship and base upfront. Cash. If I hadn't been buying such ridiculous amounts of items all game I could have afforded it without pawning off the coin, too.

Yippee! Now I can fortify the hull of the Delphinus for you! You'll be going through sky rifts and stone reefs in no time!

Don't worry...this will be the best investment of your life! I wish this base wasn't so secret! I want everyone to see how great it's going to be! The new hull of the Delphinus will be done by tomorrow morning. Then you'll be able to go after those crystals!

I'm counting on you, Izmael!

Vyse, I'm so excited! We're going to have our own base and the Delphinus will be able to go just about anywhere!

I'd forgotten all about that. Alright, Vyse... you first.

What? Me first? Um... well, I put a lot of thought into this. Don't laugh, people...

And since most pirates use swords, I figured we should have one of those on the flag, too.

Hey! That's pretty good!

Alright... Aika, you're next.

I figured the skull thing was overdone, so I tried to go with something quick and cunning. That's why I drew a cat.

Haha... Aika, that cat looks just like you!

Well, I had to give the cat some personality. Do you think I got a little carried away?

Waaay too carried away. Heh heh... Alright, Fina... it's your turn.

Well... I felt that skulls were a little too scary, so I wanted to make something happier.

There's no reason to be embarassed, Fina! I don't think there's ever been an Air Pirate flag that looked like this! I like it.

Well, that's all of them. Vyse, you're the Captain... Which one do you like?

Alright, this is where all you wonderful people reading my thread come in! For the time being I went with Fina's design, but cast your votes in the thread and I'll tally them up to see which flag we're going to use!

While we're on the subject, though, Fina doesn't have it quite right. The Delphinus is was a Valuan flagship, so rather than being named after the mammal it's named after the constellation of Delphinus, the dolphin.

I think I like Fina's flag. It's very original and people will remember the name of our ship. It doesn't exactly strike fear into the hearts of anyone, but it shows our good intentions.

Oh, thank you. I'm so glad... when I first drew it, I thought it might be a little strange...

Well then, I'll hang one up in the bridge, too!!

Oh, it's getting late... I'm starting to get hungry, too...

Hey, everyone! Dinner is ready!

Great timing!

Well, it looks like we're spending the night at our new headquarters... Crescent Isle.

Yeah. Starting tomorrow, we should start searching for the remaining Moon Crystals.

Yes... but I hope this time I won't get airsick...

Hahaha... You'll have to get over that!

Oh, Fina, there's something that I wanted to ask you. That Admiral... umm... what was his name? Ramirez? How do you know him?

What?

When we met him in Nasrad, you seemed to know an awful lot about him.

If you don't feel like telling me, it's okay... Don't worry about it.

...No, I'm sorry. I should have told all of you about him sooner. I will tell you everything I know about... Ramirez. You know that I am a Silvite... a descendant of the Silver Civilization...

Dun dun dunnnn.

What?!

And it makes perfect sense if you go back and look at the fight with him again. Not only is his sword silver, it morphs out from around his wrist – just like Cupil.

We grew up together... A long time ago, he was one of my best friends. He didn't used to be so... so heartless and cruel. He used to care for me like a little sister. When we heard that the Valuans were trying to reawaken the Gigas, Ramirez volunteered to come down here to stop them. He went on a journey to search for the Crystals... alone. Shortly after he started his quest, we lost track of him. We never even dreamed that he would join forces with the Valuan Empire. Those were the people that he was sent here to stop.

I hope that the Ramirez I knew isn't gone forever.

Admiral Ramirez. Not only is he one of Valua's greatest swordsmen, but he is also a master strategist. He used to be Galcian's Vice Captain. But, I don't even think Galcian knows Ramirez's past.

Fina...

......

This is one of the few decisions that could really go either way, but the answer is that she needs cheering up. She doesn't need more confidence that we can win this, things are brighter now than they've ever been for that.

Cheer up, Fina! We're here with you now! Two Air Pirates, a Silvite, two crazy old men, a snot-nosed brat, and an airsick Prince! Valua doesn't stand a chance against us. There's no other ship that can boast a more motley crew!

Vyse...

Fina, what Vyse is trying to say... is that you aren't alone...

I'm not sure if I appreciate his comment about the airsickness, but we're all together now.

Vyse... Aika... Enrique...

Thank you all. I... I will do my best.

Alright! So, tomorrow, we continue our search for the rest of the Moon Crystals! We'll start early.

Oh, Enrique... Are you sure you can get up on time without a servant to wake you?

Hey! I always get up on my own! I don't need any servants...

I think that should just about do it for this update. So, what about the riddle I mentioned last update? I lied, that'll have to wait till next time. See you then, and just vote in the thread for whichever flag you like the look of!
