Part 4: Heaven or Hell, let's raise chao! And maybe a race as well

Rings don't matter as much, but the time bonus can pull you out from the previous rank.

Heaven or Hell, let's raise chao! And maybe a race as well

So with just leaving the game on, I turn back and hey look at that!

Look at that dark cha- waaaaait a minute. Something's not right. I upped his flying stats and yet he's still a normal dark chao. Strange. I guess not everything was gonna go the way I was hoping for.

Anyway, I've posted a preview of the Hero Garden a while back, since Echo had finally transformed into a Hero Chao.

Whenever a chao becomes a Hero/Dark chao, their respective gardens pop up as well, all access from the Lobby. And it's times like this I should've left Egg Jr. in the garden.

Hero Garden Music

More spacious than the regular garden, a fountain in the back and a bell off in the distance. Ya know I have a feeling that these gardens help make potential Hero Chao evolve faster or something like that, but I'm probably just pulling shit out of the air.

Personally I prefer this to the Dark Garden, but that's just me. I'll probably move Echo up here so that he doesn't get too attached to Eggman (he was starting to lose some of his Hero colors before he changed).

Dark Garden Music

Now this is a garden suitable for our dark champion. A river of blood juicy koolaid, some tombstones and skulls on the trees (which I should've captured) along with some goodies hidden in the ground. This is where I'll be leaving Egg Jr. and Mark for the remainder of the LP since they'll be my most important chao for the races. Hard to tell in that pic, but Egg Jr is doing a spin dance.

Now each of these gardens all come with one Chao egg each as well as a GBA transfer machine to send your chao over to the tiny garden, but only the main garden has the gate to the races and karate events.

And speaking off, with his new Dark stats, let's wrap up the Beginner Races then, shall we? I went ahead and skipped recording Lv.2 since it's all the same. The rest of these Chao races will be recorded at the max level as well.

Even with his buffed stats, some courses did prove a bit of a problem, but nothing like mashing the A button couldn't fix.

Now when you beat a course on its last level, that Chao will earn a prize that it'll use whenever it feels like it. The prizes as shown:

Crab Pool - Shovel
Stump Valley - Watering Can
Mushroom Forest - Rattle
Block Canyon - Toy Car

You'll notice it in a later screen shot, but whenever you win a race (not too sure if it's the entire course or just an individual one) that chao will get a button on his chest.

Now about those toys, some will show when they're bored, other will work when you give them something. In this case, the Shovel and Watering Can help to plant and grow new trees in the gardens. Just have to give that chao a seed and it'll walk around looking for a place to plant it.

Along with those prizes, when you complete each course in the Beginner Race, the rest will go ahead and unlock for you. Each one Egg Jr can compete in except for the Hero Race, which won't let Dark Chao compete. So for that one, I'll be using Mark since fuck raising another chao from scratch.

Now I would've included some footage from the Standard Karate tournament, but uhhhhh.

Yeah.

And I can imagine the next set of races won't be as easy. So the next update will feature him going through the Jewel Races along with the Standard Karate Tourney. There's not much left for Chao stuff so this will go by pretty quickly.
