Splinter Cell: Double Agent

Part 3: JBA HQ

quote:

Briefing: Sam has been accepted into the JBA on Jamie's recommendation, though under heavy watch.

Now Sam has to both please his new "allies" and do what they ask, as well as start his work on exposing the workings of the group to the NSA.

Video (As always, download the video for the best quality.)

Get to know the JBA base well, we'll be back here again.

Sam's choices: (Read only after the video, but feel free to discuss it in your posts afterwards. It's only to protect people just viewing this post.)

I shot Cole Yeagher, god forgive me. He was dead anyway, I keep telling myself. If I hadn't shot him, Jamie or Emile would have. This way, at least they seem to trust me a bit more. (TRUST gained for JBA, TRUST lost for NSA)

New gameplay mechanisms:

Safe cracking a-hoy! It works just like you expect a safe to work. Rotate the outer wheel and after a full rotation it will latch on to the second wheel which will start to rotate, and so on for all wheels. Line up the notches on all the wheels to the marker by alternating left and right.

New profiles:

MEDICAL PROFILES collected for all members, see each separate entry below and in the OP!

ACTIVITES PROFILE collected for Stanley Dayton, see his entry below and in the OP!

New characters encountered:

quote:

Name: Emile Dufraisne

Personal history: Unknown

Medical history: For a man of his age, Dufraisne is in perfect health. Blood pressure is somewhat high, as is cholesterol, but other readings are well within ideal parameters. Dufraisne is still physically powerful, and can intimidate as much with force as with personality.

Activities: Unknown

Notes: Leader of the JBA.

quote:

Name: Stanley Dayton

Personal history: Unknown

Medical history: Dayton is a relatively sickly individual, and can be said to be in the worst health of any member of the JBA. Plauged by chronic nightmares, he routinely suffers from numerous ailments and aches and pains. On more than one occasion he has been accused of being a hypochondriac.

Activities: Stanley Dayton is the systems administrator for the JBA. He is responsible for all computer equipment and peripherals, including those that support the secret project. He is a member of Dufraisne's inner circle.

Notes: The JBA's computer guy. Moans alot.

quote:

Name: Carson Moss

Personal history: Unknown

Medical history: Moss is physically powerful, if not particularly agile. He works out incessantly, and is extremely strong. His knee has healed sufficently to allow him average mobility and cannot be considered a weakness.

Activities: Unknown

Notes: Handles JBA security. Don't call him Moose.

quote:

Name: Enrica Villablanca

Personal history: Unknown

Medical history: Enrica is in perfect health. While there is a history of heart trouble on her father's side of the family, it has shown no sign of manifesting in her. She engages in regular exercise and has had faulty vision corrected by LASIK surgery.

Activities: Unknown

Notes: The JBA's medic. Not bad looking at all.

Gentlemen, and lady, at this critical juncture in our nation's history. I think it's important that I take this time to remind all of us who we are and why we are here. As you know, John Brown was not merely a patriot, but a revolutionary, one who saw the systems of government in his day as hopelessly corrupt. Only fire and bloodshed could change that evil, and the events that followed his death proved him right.

Like John Brown, we stand in a time when the United States is clearly in the hands of evil corrupt men who have sold out our country and the noble, honest citizens thereof for their own benefit. The system, of which they are so proud, is broken beyond repair. We cannot effect peaceful correction, not any longer, and so is left to use to take up the tools that our predecessor used to wreak the change that is necessary.

Hey Enrica, Carson here. I just wanted to let you know personally that the keypad code for the server room has been changed to 6278, which, if I remember correctly from your file, is your birthday. I thought it might be easy for you to remember that way. You can thank me later if you like.

Okay people. This week's best score is a miserable 75, from our friend Mr. Dayton, which means that the rest of you couldn't hit the ground if you were aiming at it. Nice job, Dayton - you were just a little less pathetic than everyone else. I expect a better score out of everyone by this time next week. Got it? Good. Here's a reminder of how the shooting range scoring works, in case that's why you're all so pathetic: You have one clip to score, and if you reload the score resets. The targets have three zones, with targets worth one, three or five points respectively.

Subject: Training room

Listen up everyone. We've finally got our new training room up and running, which means I expect people to be in there, training. If you need help with basic agility, it's the place to go. The room is split into small sections, each representing a specific challenge. To make it more interesting, if you fail a specific section, gates will close and you'll have to make your way back to the first open door. And, as a special bonus, there's a safe at the end of it for anyone who thinks they've got the skills to crack it.

And if I see that room empty, I'm going to start asking questions.

Subject: Security procedures

Everyone: Here's a quick rundown on the security procedures we have in place, in order to make sure that nobody's last words are "I didn't know". There are four security levels in the compound. Base level, as you know, is keypad security. Different rooms have different codes. The living quarters for your officer types, including Dayton, Washington, Enrica and Emile are protected by voice lock. The surveillance room is protected by a fingerprint lock, and the core restricted area is protected by a retinal scanner.

Some of you may have noticed that your cell phone reception in the compound is awful. The rest of you are obeying orders and don't have cell phones, haha. What it means is that we're scrambling any and all unauthorized transmissions in and out of the compound. The only line out is through the dish and the roof and all activity through that port is closely monitored. That means no more 1-900 numbers for some of you, and you know who you are, ha ha!

Apologies, all for the excessive heat in the central area of the compound. We are working on the repairs, which will be done shortly. In the meantime, I appreciate everyone taking care to keep a low profile, which means only the usual sentry and those indivuduals working on the fan repair should be seen on the roof.

I tried to do what you suggested, Dayton, but it didn't work. I have neither the time or the patience for this, so I suggest you come fix it yourself at your earliest convinience. The code to my system is 2701.

The gas grenade is a pretty standard CS-gas grenade. It will knock out any person caught in the gas for a prolonged period.
