Operation Mange Poutine: Opposition Turn 3

Both sides get a few small kicks in during this next period. Nothing to be alarmed about, though.

Really, the only formation of ours that has taken any considerable losses are the transport helicopters (three more are taken down by Javelin fire like sitting ducks). I can only hope the Turks weren't counting on catching a ride back to base any time soon. They should probably be called the Airimmobile force from this point onwards.

A pair of Challengers charges up the northern road with the intent of messing up that Airimmobile segment, but they get badly suppressed by the Yatagan tanks on a nearby hill. They do - however - fire an errant shot that takes out one of my APCs. My first loss of the match stings, but I'm sure worse will come. Actually worse does come. Two of my Scout vehicles get popped open by tank fire. I suppose it should be expected as I wasn't exactly being conservative with them.

One of the forward Leopard 1A5's gets taken out. Only one, which is interesting because they kept getting described as sacrificial lambs.

Yeah, that's great guys. You only have like 4 of those missiles, why not waste one on a glorified sports utility vehicle?

Our 120mm and 203mm fire goes all over the place. I have no idea if it actually hit anything. From this point onwards, we're probably going to be able to stick to our original plan of bogging down the enemy and launching massive waves of artillery to destroy them.

Guided weapons are far superior in this type of battle anyway. A single CF-18 swoops in and takes out a Challenger II, a pair of Type 86 IFVs and a Hummer, without taking any hits in return.

I am quite content with the combat debut of my taskforce.

Looking at this screenshot, there are all sorts of vehicles corpses over there. I suppose some of our early artillery volleys landed there?

In any case, we are whittling down the enemy forces at a nice rate, but they are taking ground rather quickly. This will obviously need to be addressed in the next turn, unless we want huge swaths of our troops to be overrun. I will be sending the files to Urcinius imminently.
