Operation Mange Poutine: Opposition Turn 5

Once again, I have mixed feelings about the opponent's turn.

I suppose we should start with the bad news.

As should be expected, a pair of Leopard 1A5's has again fallen to the enemy guns. I think we should consider pulling them off the frontline altogether and waiting until the primary enemy threat lies in light and medium armoured vehicles (which lesser MBTs are brutally efficient against). And that moment might be pretty soon, looking at how much of the enemy losses can be weighed in tanks.

A pair of AVGPs and 2 or 3 Turkish Cobra Scouts are also taken out by enemy Challengers remaining to the east. Most of the Chally force has been eliminated, but the remaining ones seem to be rather well placed. In fact, the one responsible for recent kills may in fact be the immobile one (which is rather insulting).

As for the Americans, they are now dangerously close to the southern defensive line. (READ: The single Canadian infantry Company with no Anti-Tank weapons). They have a ways to go, but it could turn into a disaster if they spend the next few turns moving unhindered. It might be good to dismount some of the better armed infantry in the vicinity.

Oh, and just for a reminder, even though the game calls them M1A2 SEP Abrams, they are just the vastly inferior M1A1 AIMS.

Now for the good news, my CF-18s have finally reached the field, and a pair of them eliminate two Type 99A2 Main Battle Tanks, and another Chinese AFV (I'm pretty sure it was a Type 86 IFV). The SEAD Aircraft don't hit any targets, other than pinning an American Stinger team but none of our aircraft suffer any hits, so I'm fairly certain that the enemy AA defenses have lost most of their teeth.

A pretty large volley of artillery also hits the enemy lines. Most of it falls away from the LOS of our forces, but there is an enemy Land Rover confirmed killed. More vehicles have been buttoned or damaged.

Overall, the battle seems like it's heating up. This is the part of the match where a really good move can win you the game, and a really bad move can kill you. I'm pretty sure we should really think these next moments through. I will be sending the files to Urcinius shortly.
