Part 127: Iraq Tutorial: Conclusion

The Tutorial as Iraq: The Epic Conclusion.

The next few turns consisted of my tanks hiding behind the hill while my infantry shot at the vanguard of the enemy. There weren't many losses on my side or any losses on their side. Turn 7 was when the fun really began.

My BRDM-1s got blasted apart by the enemy Apaches. I wasn't feeling sorry for them anyway. More of a concern were several T-55s destroyed by a direct artillery hit.

My rifle squads have no way of harming enemy vehicles save for assaulting them with grenades. I tried a daring charge with this one, without success.

On Turn 8, not only did weapons squads with RPGs and tanks that finally got targets take out some Bradleys, but they even got two Abrams'. On Turn 9, the enemy suffered a friendly fire incident that I'm not complaining about.

Their observer vehicle was joining in the charge when an A-10 fired a missile at it, blowing it up. Their ammunition carriers were also joining in the charge, and if the match had lasted longer, they'd have been nice targets.

On my Turn 9, my surviving tanks either couldn't see anything, or were too buttoned by artillery fire to fire anything but their machine guns. On the enemy's Turn 10, they grabbed the rest of the victory points, blew up a few more of my units, and the match was over.

They lost 2 Abrams', the FISTV to friendly fire, and four Bradleys. In contrast, when I played as the US, as an absolute newbie no less, my only "loss" was a tank that got stuck in the softer sand.

It was deemed a "Marginal Defeat" for me. They still took what they were going to take, but this time I made them pay at least somewhat for it.
