Part 130: Soviet Turn 2

You may be overestimating the effectiveness of your artillery.
I'd keep it going to suppress the enemy, but don't except undirected artillery to clear out targets in that kind of terrain.

Oh I know that. I'm counting on artillery to keep enemy heads down rather than wipe out entire platoons. But you never know what could happen.

Soviet Turn 2

Our friend Coiler has been landing some unbelievably lucky shots. A third BTR Armoured Personnel Carrier is taken out by a 1-in-6 strike from a bunker (that is probably all the way across the map). Our units are going to have to keep their heads down even more now.

The AT gun is destroyed with machinegun fire from the T-64s, leaving the routed crew to flee for their lives. It's odd how much the tanks are pulling their weight, considering this isn't the type of match they would normally excel at.

Artillery and MiG support is redirected to hit the site of that stray bunker and suppress enemies just out of sight in the forest.

Two spots are taken by Soviet troops without resistance, moving up the line of battle a few hundred meters.

A DshK Heavy Machinegun team is eliminated while this is going on (I should have taken only T-64s).

We've taken pretty much all of what I imagine to be the more or less neutral ground. The forest will almost certainly have some enemy troops within it, and the northern village as well.
