Obong-Ni Ridge: Turn 10

The first objective is to loosen up and shatter the enemy force in the north. If this is completed quickly enough, I think there is a possibility for victory (if I made this mission sound easy, it isn't; it's straightforward, but not easy).

Meanwhile, the reinforcing platoon is still trudging slowly towards the enemy. I'll be amazed if they actually arrive quickly enough to do anything.

Screw everything else, though. We finally have Pershings. Right now, all they can do is help soften up the North Korean infantry, but they will soon be able to remove the armoured presence from the area. I can also rest at ease knowing that the enemy armour is the only thing that poses a threat to our Pershings (and not much of a threat at that).

Unfortunately, the proximity of the North Korean horde is troubling, and it tells. There are now very few units in the center that can attack safely. They take a few kills during their turn, but I don't think it will be enough without outside support.

Fortunately, we have no shortage of that. It's time to throw whatever we have at the central force.

Whatever we have also now includes the North Korean mortar teams, who seem to have switched over to the allied side for whatever reason.

One thing I am glad for is that the enemy still seems to love sending their armour in ahead of their main force. Now that we have Pershings, this will prove to be even more a mistake than it was before.
