Part 41: Obong-Ni Ridge: Turn 16

Obong-Ni Ridge: Turn 16



The Machinegun section accompanying the infantry reinforcements is now in position. Also, we now have the second M26 Pershing section at the frontline.




And yet another enemy tank is thrown into the fray only to be immediately repulsed. Unfortunately, we didn't destroy it this turn, but I imagine next turn will be different- wait, what does that say at the bottom of the screen?



14 enemies spotted? What? How many enemy units are in this formation? It can't even be called a formation anymore; it's just a single homogenous blob of North Korean. Maybe if we dilute it into enough water, we can win this battle the homeopathic way.

I stand corrected for when I said that the north was the only place where we had a chance. There must be at least 25 infantry units on that hill alone.



As for the south, the enemy has now advanced enough that they are being attacked by our backup line of defense in certain areas.



I am co-opting the enemy strategy for artillery target designation. I'm going to start throwing down everything at the same point in the hopes that it will cause massive amounts of suppression/rout. It seems to be working for them.



Speaking of which, the enemy has mercifully stopped attacking the middle ridge with deadly accurate blows. They are now attacking wildly all over the place, waiting for their next target. Every turn we still hold that ridge is considered to be a good turn.



Regardless, the enemy army is still quite literally consuming us. I am no longer devoting 3 separate screencaps to showing how screwed we are, 1 will do the job adequately.

So I guess the question is: If we're going to die, is it going to take more or less than 10 turns?
