Part 48: Obong-Ni Ridge: Turn 23

Well, sorry about this, I've been out of town for the weekend which has really messed around with. my LP schedule.

In any case, this Mission is almost done, so let's get this clusterfuck over with!

Obong-Ni Ridge: Turn 23

When an enemy force is first breaking through a wave of fire is when they are the most vulnerable; why? Because they will have 2 or 3 units every turn that break ahead and separate themselves from the main force. This means that every unit you have on the rear lines of defense can annihilate them without any fear of reprisal.

Even besides that, we've been pretty lucky with attacks this turn. Even some <10% Rifle attacks have routed enemy squads.

A support fire wave is called in, more out of tradition than anything else. It's going to land turn 25 if it lands at all and I doubt it will make any sort of difference.

For some reason, the enemy artillery isn't as accurate this turn. Since there are 2 or 3 turns left in the mission, I think at this point we could just not do anything and 'win' the match.

At first it looks like our defensive lines will hold out perfectly, since every North Korean that sticks his head up gets shot back down. This trend ends with the loud and violent arrival of a final T-34/85 through the smoke. I don't think any of the surrounding units possess AP Bazooka rounds, but an assault could cripple or destroy it.

Yeah, it's kind of strange in any video game with mission objectives like this.

You can have a force in shambles that is useless for anything, but if it can complete the mission objective, then it doesn't really matter.

What happens at Turn 25 in this theoretical alternate universe? What event occurs that saves all of these soldiers from a huge wave of enemy troops.

More importantly, people need to discuss and vote on what the next mission is going to be (either another multiplayer match or the next singleplayer mission). It will only be a few more days/turns before the end.
