November Cod Crisis: Canadian Turn 2

Suppression of stationary bunkers is very difficult. They count as vehicles rather than infantry, so shots need to hit them directly in order to suppress them. This means that our patrol boats can do little other than soak up damage for the landing craft (which they are doing with excellency).

After creeping up the landers for a while, eventually all of Sam's bunkers run out of attacks for their turn. This means the barges can make it right up to the beach.

I intend to unload the entire company at once (other than say, the mortar teams and such) so the enemy can't pick off our company one Section at a time. Last mission taught us that assaults only work when they involve the sheer weight of a force rather than a few units.

I take the opportunity to attack a few times with the PT boats, but it just feels like I'm just waisting everyone's time. In hindsight, taking a few 5 Inch Barrages would have been nicer.

Now for our paratroopers. I've had pretty good luck rallying them, which I'm sure I can only owe to the extra morale and training they have next to ordinary infantry.

A Bazooka team ambushes our point Section, but they fail to force it back, and get annihilated by return fire.

There is currently a Panzer III Turret and an HMG section threatening our Company, but they've been getting shitty hit percentages, despite the close range. However, there are probably more enemies hiding just around the corner from us, so we can't get too cocky.

Now, we shall wait for Sam. to respond with bad news.
