November Cod Crisis: Scandanavian Turn 3

Normally I like to sum up each turn by posting a sequential series of screencaps that details a number of events that occurred that turn and the order in which they occurred.

This is - to be quite blunt - not possible in any way whatsoever given what I have just seen. You see, not only does Sam. insist on using every possible attack down to firing bombardment attacks with his Rifle Sections, but he coordinates his attacks seemingly without any order whatsoever.

Clearly, he is a willing servant of the Dark God Tzeentch, but that is a matter for another time. Instead, I have to summarise the turn in two overall events that I deemed significant.

- A pair of Danish Rifle Sections got caught by our first paratrooper force, and it looks like we could beat them without any hassle, as seen in the fourth picture.
- Sam. took potshots at our paratroopers with wildly varying degrees of accuracy, as seen in every single other picture I took (there are three up there, and about a dozen more in my LP folder).

Rather than show you the whole turn, I feel it would be better to show you the end results.

If that turret can be neutralised, the northern infantry could be a useful asset by outflanking the majority of Sam's firing units. The mortar team got taken out, but it only had a snowball's chance in the first place.

The second paratrooper force faces fire from a tank, an HMG team, and a number of Panzer III turrets. The turrets will probably be the easiest targets, but the tank is currently the most dangerous enemy. Threats to all other sides are negligible in comparison (ie, turrets that can be distracted by our PT boats and landing craft).

For whatever reason, Sam. sent out a pair of infantry sections right into the line of fire. This means the first paratrooper force will have a much easier time dealing with the nearby units.

Ultimately, our goal should be turning the three scattered groups into a more cohesive force. If we can accomplish that without suffering terribly, we may actually have a decent shot at this mission.

Orders, please.
