Part 87: Operation Chocolate Spain: Moroccan Turn 2

Operation Chocolate Spain: Moroccan Turn 2

The Patton takes a full volley of fire from the AMX-13s, and doesn't get destroyed, but releases smoke and receives a lot of suppression damage.

I seem to have crapped out of luck here, because the direct hits kept bouncing off of the hull. I thought the odds of a shot hitting the turret were substantially higher (Is it different for the early Pattons?).

However, a pair of Halftracks are decimated by the M8 Greyhounds. If there were Mechanised Squads inside them, that will be a nice point sink for MT.

I was originally worried about the M8 Greyhounds being nearly useless in this match, but with the amount of light vehicles we're seeing, this could be their day in the sun.

A Mortar strike is called in. I can see this going one of two ways.

1) The Spanish forces hesitate because of their poor tactical position, and consolidate to attack from a different position. This hesitation results in direct hits from our artillery weaponry. The amount of truck/halftrack based infantry they have would make such an occurrence disastrous for them.

2) The Spanish keep pushing forwards. The artillery will have little effect, but if they continue this course of action, we've basically already won.

The Northern Greyhounds move up to a sloped position. They can't see anything right now, but odds are, nothing can see them.

Is it worth risking a Greyhound or two to see if there are any Spanish forces mobilising to the North?

As suggested, our northern and central forces are slowly pushing forwards as the southern force fires on the advancing enemy.

So far, not a shot has been fired at us - artillery or otherwise. Should I make any changes to standing orders?

Also, what the hell is wrong with the Spanish fire control systems? You'd think the Pattons would see us before we see them.
