Part 26: Chapter 7-4

So now we’re over at the Campus again to check up on Vaclav’s complaint about Mia screaming next door. The jokes just write themselves, folks.

Up we go, and…

No kidding. It seems the Ripper’s drug em and drown em plan has been momentarily delayed by Vickie’s kung fu.

Presuming she wasn’t, y’know, dead when you got here.

I weep.

And we’ll yoink Mia’s revolver. Sadly, there won’t be much chance to use it.

Oh come on, Mia was skinny, but she couldn’t possibly fit in a painting.

To the art house!

Richard is not here. You know, you were supposed to be watching Mia, Dick.

Good plan.

So it turns out that *this* is the final puzzle. It’s not really so bad, though. We’re going to have to use Richard’s computer to Google up a possible location of the killer. Unfortunately, we have no clues right now for search terms.

The answer lies in checking out all of Ackerman’s paintings one more time.

Over here…

Here…

Not really helpful. We need a possible location. He surely didn’t get to LA with Mia in the timeframe that Vickie was taking a nap.

Over here…

So the Ripper is most certainly copying Ackerman’s paintings. But we knew that already.

Well how was he supposed to know you’d crane kick his ass while loaded up on Roofies?

And it turns out Mystery Girl actually was Apolina. Ackerman gouged out her eyes. Must not have liked her personality.

Over here’s the important one.

This one is different in that we can examine the bridge closer.

That would be the Bridge area back in Prague. This painting is also unique in that the killer is actually chilling out to the left, between the big lights…

Continuing on…

And the last one.

We have what we need now. Jog back to Richard’s computer.

So now we have keywords from those paintings to toss into the search bar. We’ll try ‘Doctor’.

…is Google patronizing me?

Anyway, Ackerman had painted himself into the Bridge in Prague and the killer is clearly still in Chicago, so let’s try all three terms.

Good to see Vladanna found a better use for her time than underage prostitution.

And that opens up our final location back on the GPS. To Teenybopper Bridge!

Well folks, thanks for keeping up with the LP! This Is DeathChicken, signing off…

No really, that’s the ending. Vickie shoots the Ripper off of a bridge, he loses his mask and his hat, but no one finds the body. It is left entirely unresolved as to who the hell he was. When Still Life was released in 2005, this was a big complaint levied against it by the whole three people who played the game to the end and got to see them Soul Reaver it up.

The idea was that there would be a sequel to the game to cover all of the dangling plot threads, but Ubisoft bought out the developer Microids and the idea vanished into thin air. This sequel, in fact, *would* come about…four years later in 2009, by the point where just about everyone had long since forgotten and given up on the whole thing. I have not played it. I do own it, however, and I will most certainly get around to seeing where the hell this story ends up. This game owes me for the cookies!
