Chapter 41 - Mountain Bandits?

"What great luck. Now I can help my brothers. Hey Riou, I have a favor to ask... oops! Oh no, this is terrible, you told me and I forgot. Right, manners, I shouldn't forget my manners. I... no, Me... no, Myself... What a pain. I am Koyu, youngest of Lampdragon bandits. We're setting up a stronghold north of Tinto. I came to make a request of Lord Riou who resides here. Please, please help my siblings. That is my request."



"Let me tell you. We are the three Lampdragon bandits. There's my brother Gijimu and sister Lo Wen and me. We were living a carefree life north of Tinto, and the Highland Army occupied Greenhill and started ruining our area. We couldn't just stand and watch, so we tried to drive them out. They were afraid of us, the three Lampdragon bandits, and they ran away once. Just when we thought everything was alright, these strange guys attacked. What could they be? These pale faced guys that looked like dead people attacked. They die when you cut them, and they don't even say 'Ouch!!!'"

I just like the idea of Viktor just shouting this.

"Yeah, that's what Marlow was saying, too. Oh no, now we're done for. That's why I've come here. I, Koyu, bow my head and beg you. Ummm... I came here to have Lord Riou hear our request. Please, please help my siblings. That is my request."

"Zombies... it must be Neclord."

"Neclord made zombie soldiers in the 'Gate Rune War' in the Scarlet Moon Empire too, so you're probably right."

"Mr. Strategist, we need to check on this. I can't believe Neclord would be aiming only for one mountain bandit territory."

"The goal must be Tinto."

"But we can't send our troops out recklessly. It's dangerous to send a big troop into a ravine."

"That's wonderful, when everyone hears that the great Lord Riou is coming, they'll be inspired. I'll take you to the stronghold. First let's go southwest of Lake West to the village of Drakemouth."

"I think he's called 'Mcdohl,' but I was thinkin'... maybe he's really General Riou!! It sure looks like him!"



"Okay then, how's this? I'll run up the hill over there and yell, 'HELP!!!!' I'm pretty sure that guy with the scar on his cheek will freak out and come running to help. When he's gone, go see Riou!'

"Oh no... is that the young boy from the inn?!"







"Whoa, hey, it's Mcdohl!! Long time no see!! Oh, right, this is..."

"It's been awhile.... You haven't changed at all.... I thought so..."

"Ah! Mcdohl!!! Are you on an adventure too?? Oh yeah, this is..."

"Ah!! Mcdohl!! G, good afternoon!! ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Oh, oh, yeah... this is..."

"Long time no see..."

"Yo, if it isn't Mcdohl. What are you doing here? Oh yeah, this is..."

"Ah, it's... you... How have you been doing...?"



"Young Master!! Ko has been kidnapped by bandits! Let's go!! Kidnapping children for money... That we cannot forgive! Never!!"



"Young Master... Ted and his grandfather both gave their lives to protect Soul Eater... I don't think the Rune itself is evil... So please, Young Master, let's go."



Yes, he is just as ridiculously powerful as he was in Suikoden 1.



He even has a combination attack!



"Huh? Hey, why aren't you guys laughing?"

"B, boss... That guy, he's..."

"Oh, come on, Pahn, You only came back because you ran out of money."

"Hmph. I wanted to show everyone how much better my cooking got these last three years, but with Gremio around, I won't get a chance!"





I swear this guy is Sanchez from the first game.



"Yeah, I'm okay now, mister. They made me drink some awful-tasting medicine though. You... mister... You're really General Riou, aren't you! And you're General Mcdohl!! Wow, awesome, I get to meet two heroes at once!!"



"I know because I see the same hope in your eyes as I did the Young Master's. Whether it's a gift from the heavens or simply destiny I don't know, but... Riou, walk your road, unafraid... For the time being, the Young Master and I will stay in Gregminster... The Young Master wants to spend some time in his real home."
