Part 22: Around The World
Last time on Tales of Eternia
We met with the Supreme Craymels of Space and Time!
And we gained the power of flight by going through Aifread's funhouse of horror!

We take our brand new Aibirds for a spin! We check out old places, explore some new places, and go lens hunting as well! Then we tackle that mysterious tower protected by cliffs over in northern Inferia, in search of more treasure.
Comment: Part 1 is kind of boring because it's just going from place to place wrapping stuff up, but we crammed most of the sidequests into it. Feel free to skip it if you want. Do check out Glimmer Spire, though!
Boss Time!
Valkyrie is a reasonably difficult optional boss who resides at the top of Glimmer Spire.
Namco felt it appropriate to give her Guard Impact like in Soul Calibur, so she'll deflect your attacks when you hit her. She is vulnerable to the Sonic series of moves and she is also vulnerable when attacking. If you can catch her during an attack, you'll do full damage.
Her attacks come fast and furious. She can hit an area in front of her with flames, which gets followed up with Fireball. She can also slash in front of her, followed by Wind Blade and Lightning. She also has her dangerous Valkria Strike, which hits a whole bunch of times, knocks you away, and is followed by Grave. This is also when she's most vulnerable, so if you can get behind her while she's doing this then nail her with Rising/Burning Phoenix.
Her ultimate attack is the Valkria Protector, which surrounds her with a dark protective aura. Her swings will be wide and she'll be almost impossible to jump over; her swings will fire out balls of energy for buffeting you back; she'll end the assault with Ray (the Ray thing might be hardcore-only).
Valkyrie is one of the few bosses affected by Reid's instant-kill mystic artes. Before fighting her, make sure you've used Omega Seal at least 50 times and unlocked Quasi Seal. Once Valkyrie's health dips below 20,000 HP, nail her with Quasi Seal to finish her off and win the fight.
