Chapter 21 – The Demon Dragon Kranion



Welcome back. Last time we were thrown directly into the next map where we have to face the dragon Kranion.







: That’s Ledas Protector, the Holy Dragon Kranion.

: He is just like me....

: No, it’s different. In these last 40 years he has been terrorizing the lands using Leda’s old castle as its base, destroying and massacaring everything in its path. He is just a ravinging beast...

: A ravinging beast... but why?

: That I don’t know. Some say it is Leda’s princess but no one seems to know the truth.

: Holmes...

: Anyway, if we don’t take that down, we won’t get our hands on the Daklion, nor can we flee from here. There is nothing else for us to do than stand up and fight.



Yeah Holmes... I’m not so sure about that... Anyway as with all dragons so far we can’t put a dent in it due to its Scales. His damage is going to come from his Large Breath which isn’t shown here (the Attack Stat is for his smalll breath) and will one shot almost our entire team due to ignoring defense. So How do we deal with him? There are two ways that tend to work. The first one is to throw Shigen with his special weapon at him and have him revive over and over again till Kranion leaves.

We however are going to take the second and more reliant way.









It's called the „throw our teenage girl/dragon at him and hide in the corner plan”. The scales work both ways and Kranion can’t hurt Katri either. Usually the transformation last long enough as well.



Won’t stop Kranion from trying and burning his own minions in the process.



Katri returns the favor.



It’s important to let the few scattered monster come to you. One wrong step and Kranion gladly ignores Katri and roast your team. Alicia takes out a skeleton.



And the rest of our team follows up.



Kranion still gets an A for Effort.





Alicia however continues to mock me…



After five turns this person arrives at the scene and begins talking to Kranion.



: Come here to me. There is no need to be afraid anymore.



: Kill them! I shall bever forgive those who dare make Tirta suffer!!

Mister I didn’t even touch your dragon. No need for such aggressions



And Kranion and Gwen retreat towards the caves.



Anway as per Gwenchaos’ command buttloads of reinforcement spawn in all corners of the map. When it rains it pours...















Nothing we haven’t seen yet. The witches will still gladly use any opening you give them to port in and kill your squishies. The rest is the usual fare of summoning assholes, mages and Soldiers/Cavalry equipped with Devil Spears. This could be tricky.



We clear out the last advancing monsters and go into position to defend ourselves against the coming onslaught.







Summoners do their thing.



I left Plum way too open, but luckily only a single witch went for her



Once their turn ends the cavalry arrives from the east to save our day.



We already know the prick Richard.

: I don’t know where these thieves came from but it seems like they don’t hold their lives very dear.



Tia is still awesome though.



Leslie here is a bodyguard of Lord Sennet which we briefly say in a cutscene. You didn’t think we had enough Lords and Ladies did you? Anyway she is a Dracoknight.



The mentioned Lord Sennet.

: Even if they are a band of thieves, we can’t just watch them being attacked by the Gazel Army and do nothing about it. Isn’t that right Temzin?



Temzin here is the legendary mercenary of the six heroes and also Samson’s father in law.



This is Katina, she is a swordmaster and Temzin daugther as well as Samson’s wife.

: Yes mother. Alfred I leave Neyfa to you. Please protect her.

Sennet was raised by Katina and Temzin and isn’t Katina’s own son.



We already know Alfred from way back when Richard took back the Amrl Kingdom. He is thew father of Alicia and one of the legendary mages.

: I know. Neyfa, don’t leave Alfreds side until the battle is over.



This is Neyfa, Sennets half-sister and one of the four maidens.

: Lord Sennet, I and Verna shall act as the vanguard. You agree don’t you, Verne?



This here is Verna the last of the Pegasus Sisters in this game.

: General Silva, I beg you to take good care of Lady Neyfa.



Lastly we have Silva who is Sun’s mother and the former leader of the Black Knights as well as Barbarossa’s daugther.
























All of them are vastly overpowered and come with some of the better weapons in the game. They are all easily capable of one rounding every enemy on the map. As such we are better off cowering in fear till most enemies are gone and then go for the talk options and grab the chests to end the map.





Shigen kills the witch that went after Plum for a good level.



Meanwhile, the reinforcements kill the entirety of the western forces.



I was lucky once more since the witch went after Lionel who had just enough HP to survive everything instead of hunting Plum. Witches are a pain to defend against.





Samson kills one of the cavalry for an ok level.





An almost decent level for Alicia? Am I dreaming?





Katri and Plum heal Lionel back up and Katri gets an ok level from it.



The massacre continues and with the witches dead it’S pretty much smooth sailing for us.





Lionel takes out a Gargoyle with a crit and gets a level with movement. It’s a great level if only due to that.



Frau has a talk with her sister.





: I have our Mother’s permission. I too am working hard to help everyone. You don’t need to get so angry.

Anyway, withdraw to a safe place quickly! The enemy is Gazel’s army not someone you can hope to match!

: Yes. I will do as my sister commands. Sheeesh... always treating me like a child...



Alicia helps frying another gargoyle.





Not empty at least…



We pick up the first of Leda’s treasures which is the axe version of Vega’s sword with 20 might.



Samson has a talk with his wife.





: This is just the right time. I wanted to hand it to you so I brought this Brave Axe. It’s something I got my hands on by coincidence but someone like you should be able to bring out it’s full potential, right?

: Yeah...

: See you Samson. I’m looking forward to the day of your return.

: ....

Why didn’t you ask her to join us...



Another brave weapon for harder times.





Plum gets a great level from dancing.



The lone remaining priest triest to throw more rocks at us in order to prevent his end.



Holmes goes over to Richard to have a talk.





Still a prick…





Shigen gets a great level from murdering a priest.



Samson goes over to his father in law.







And Alicia made the way to her father.





: No… I just wanted to know why you couldn’t become free.... Why you couldn’t love mother... who you are.. I just wanted to know.

: And did you understand?

:Yes. So I’ll forgive you. Still I can’t show my face before you again.

: I see. If possible, I wanted to love you as my daugther, but now that it is not possble any longer... Alicia about Nina...

: Srop it! Don’t say another word!

: Fine then. But please accept this. It’s wind my own wind magic, Sylpheed.

: Sylpheed... but this is...

: Think about it as a memento. There is nothing else I can do for you know.

: ...



Sylpheed is pretty powerful but has no special effects.





Anyway, Holmes grabs the last treasure and ends the map.





Hey Richard, you better not underestimate Gwenchaos. The 3 sages, wielders of great power, were all killed by him alone. Even you, the one they call the Lion Prince, couldn’t take him out easily.

: Hmm... even you, the Great Mage of the Wind, after abandoning your country and your wife couldn’t defeat him.

: What?!



: Tia is this really okay? The Earth Sanctuary is the homebase of the Gazel Church and Gwenchaos will probably be there too... Will you guys of the Leda Royal Army really be ok on your own?

: Prince Sennet, please stop with your unnecessary meddling. This question is between me and Tia.

: Tia, is that really so? I want to hear what you really think.



: Even if we are the only ones fighting the Gazel Church, we will make due someway or another. Thus according to our plan let us part ways at the Earth Sanctuary.

: If that’s your wish then I won’t say anything else.

: Lord Temzin, What are we going to do about them?

: They don’t seem to be ordinary thieves, but... leave them be for the moment. Having connections would be a burden where we are going.

: Roger.

: Well, Lord Sennet, shall we depart? We have to decide where to set up camp next before the sun goes down.

: That’s true. Ok, let’s be off. Neyfa, I’m sure it’s tough but please bear with it a little longer.

: Yes, Lord Brother...

And the cavalry leaves towards a more challenging fight.







: … I see, so that’s it... That girl, I thought I’ve seen her before

: Hey Holmes, about that Kranion...

: Shut up! Right now I’m in deep thought! Can’t you stay quiet for a while...

: Sorry...

: That Kranion...nope. That girl... is Princess Tia of the Leda Alliance!









We’re ambushed by additional cutscenes on our way back.



Haven’t seen that face in a while…



: Did that man get any better?

: Yeah, he seem ok for now. He’S out at the moment, said he was going for a walk.

: Now, that’s good! When I saw him floating in the Lieve river, I didn’t think he was still alive.

: Yeah, if Big Bro wouldn’t have found him, he would be dead for sure.

: You’re the one who brought him back to life, weren’t you? I came back after a while and damn, I was surprised to see him alive! How were you able to nurse someone of his condition back to health, anyway?

: I didn’t do anything special really... More importantly, big bro, who much are you earning as of lately? If you have something you spare, could you lend me a hand?

: Lend you money, you mean? Hey Bud, don’t you have any pride as a thief? You gotta steal what you want! Borrowing? Are you kidding me?

: But Rishel doesn’t like it, so I’m trying to make due with a side job, but medicine is so expensive...

: Hmm.. that guy’s medicine... well fine then. I don’t have anything ready now, but the next time I come, I’ll see what I can do. See ya and don’t overdo it!

: Yeah...



Two quick scenes remain in this chapter...







Last scene for now.





: I don’t take part in the world’s tumults. And I have to leave on a trip now. I cannot afford to stay here any further.

: Nothing to do about it then. I will give up for today.

: ...

: Rishel, Are you going?

: Bud, it’s been two years since you let me stay at your place. I gave you a lot of trouble but I’m fine now and I want to see my little sister. I bet she’s worried...

: But Rishel, I heard the story and went into Braad’s church, but neither Renee nor Meriah were there... Both of them left on a trip and nothing else is known at the moment...

: That’s why I’m worried. I think Meriah left on a trip to look for me. But she’s a girl so I’m worried about her being alone. *Cough Cough Cough*

: Rishel!? You can’t do it yet. Your body hasn’t recovered... and I can’t buy medicine.. I’m sorry...

: *cough cough* It’s not your fault...

: Wait here! I’m going to buy medicine! I’ll get some, definately!
