Chapter 28 – The Imperial Navy still sucks…

Welcome back. After the disappointing fight against the supply vessel last time we are up against the Imperial Navy this time. Will they put up a fight? Spoiler: No they won’t.

: Oh, there is nothing to worry about. Also I got a grudge against those Imperials. If any of them dare to stand before me then I won’t forgive them, no matter who they are.

Our enemies have gotten a few more dangerous weapons (Brave Sword and Arbalast/Repeater Bow) but have such pitiful stats that they fall in seconds to our battle hardened warriors. Just be careful to not let anything squishy into the range of the two ballistas at the bosses side (it happened to me but Sierra had an Elixier anyway so I just let it be )

Sierra warps up on the high ground and murders the first ballista on the first turn.

Holmes kills a second dude and we move into position for the second turn.

In which we murdered most of the crew.

An uneventful turn later we are almost done with the map. We got two turns to spare until the reinforcements (Remember the Dragon Knights they spoke of last map?) would arrive but that’s plenty seeing how I’m already pulling punches by giving Billford and Sierra kills instead of just steamrolling everything.

The enemies go after our esteemed king and while they put a dent in him, they die in return (except for the boss).

Sasha and Lionheart take out the ballistas and only the boss remains. Although not for long...

The combined efforts of Ropharl, Attrom and Sierra bring him down despite his annoying shield.

We pick up his Brave Sword and are done for the day.

: By the way, Holmes... Can you hold off returning to Il Island? We should take Granada back first.

: If you want to return to Granada then we can leave the village of Il for later. Yoda’s there anyway so we shouldn’t have to worry about anything.

: Then let’s go to Granada. We’ve gathered a lot of supplies and I’m going to make the empire pay for what they did a year ago!

: No it’s Bismarck you have to thank. This is only my duty.

: General Bismarck of the Transport Vessel Corps...

So remember the totally inefficient boss from last time? Turns out he was actually a nice guy. Attentive readers could have known this given that he said the goods were for the people of Canaan instead of for the Empire.

: I heard from the subordinates. The General saved you. It seems you jumped out in the rampaging Senay Sea.

: Yes, I also heard that. However I was unconcious at the time. I couldn’t see General Bismarck. Mister Shion, please, I want to meet the general and thank him!

: No it’s impossible.

: Eh?

: General Bismarck died. The Transport Vessel Coprs was attacked by pirates. The general’s ship sank into the Senay Sea.

: No way... Such a thing....

: What is it, Pike? Do you have something to report?

: Yes. General Praeva’s imperial fleet was completely annihilated. It seems they faced the pirate fleet of Granada.

One ship doesn’t make a fleet, guys. On neither side... Also are you serious that 10 guys were the entire Imperial Navy? Man no wonder people like Maerhen could prosper...

: What? The imperial navy couldn’t have been defeated by those pirates... No way... I can’t believe it...

: Mister Shion....

: Renee, this town will soon become a battlefield. You have to escape right now.

: No, I want to stay at your side, Mister Shion. I can be a little useful to you.

: You can’t. I can’t let you get involved in this. Pike, please escort her out of the castle.

Yeah a Warp Staff would really suck on your team... on mine however

: Aye.

: After escorting her lead the reserve army and standby at the west side of the fort. Look for a chance and attack the enemy by their flank.

: Understood.

Pro Tip: Telling me the strategy makes it less effective…

: Sister Renee, you do not need to worry about Bismarck or me. We are soldiers, we live and die in battle.

: Mister Shion...

Next time we might actually face a real battle...
