Part 32: - Sixth and Seventh Sins, Paraskevi and Savato

I wish this LP could never end, but...:

32 - Sixth and Seventh Sins, Paraskevi and Savato

(Music: On the Cutting Edge of Medicine.)

"That suggests there are two more. Can you make it?"

"I'll be fine. I can't let everyone down now..."

"Even if I had the Healing Touch, I think I'd recommend you for this. You have a gift, Derek. Use it."

"Man, you're unbelievable, walking into a battlefield with a scalpel. We're all pulling for you, buddy. Good luck!"

"Sidney told me you're helping the Navy raid Delphi headquarters. I wanted to wish you good luck. Haha! You've become quite the daredevil, Dr. Stiles! Remember, stay calm, work quickly. Just like always."

"But you're here now, Dr. Stiles, with patients to treat. There's only one thing you can do..."

"I know, I know, Angie. We're going to finish what we came here to do."

(Music: Patient Profile)

"They should be playing at home, not trapped in this lab!"

"Don't worry, Angie. Once we stop GUILT, they can all go back to where they belong."

(Watch this operation: Mission 6-7, S Rank.)

(Music: Gangliated Utrophin Immuno-Latency Toxin (GUILT))

"Each GUILT is kept dormant inside these children for testing... The only reason they're alive is to nurture this terrible disease. If we left them here, I'm sure Delphi would keep them alive... but what kind of life would that be? I want to give these children a chance to find happiness. Please begin the procedure, Doctor."

This Paraskevi is only slightly more difficult than the last... According to the damage done per worm, anyway. I've always found it easier to deal with, actually, because you're not constantly being interrupted by Victor and Angie.

I'd say practice on Infection until you get Paraskevi down pat, but, uh. Don't do that.

"The operation is complete and the child is safe. Thank goodness. I hope he has a better life from here on out..."

"You're checking up on me now? I'm fine."

"Is there anything on your mind, then?"

"...Only the patients."

"I think you'll be okay."

Here it is, the final playable level. Sometimes I wondered if I would ever reach this title card, or if there would be anyone around to see it by then. But here we are.

I am genuinely grateful to have come all the way to the end with you fine people, both in the thread and out.

"We believe there's one left. But, Dr. Stiles seems fatigued. We may have to take a break..."

"Don't worry about me, I'm fine! We're starting the procedure."

"There's not much an old man like me can do in this situation! It's the young who build our future. ...Good luck, Derek..."

"I don't. I used to feel responsible for the death of a loved one, but... I'd never regret my decision. You can do this. It's why you became a doctor in the first place."

"But, that's not really why I came here. ...I wanted to be there for you. ...Um. Don't misunderstand... I didn't mean it like... that. You said that you wanted to become a doctor I'd be proud of. ...Well.... I'm proud of you, Derek. And I'll be watching your back, no matter where we have to go. I won't run away as long as I can fight by your side!"

...

"Sorry... I'm just... Happy."

"Because the children are going to be alright?"

"Kind of. I'm just glad I became a doctor. ...My Dad died a long time ago, from a disease that was 'incurable'. There was really nothing they could do back then."

"...That's why?"

"I know the doctors tried everything they could to save him. But in the end, Dad still died. But, the doctors learned a lot from treating his disease. There's a cure for it, now! Doctors and patients are fighting together side by side. Like Secretary Anderson, or my Dad... We're fighting here today against a new disease, called GUILT, because people sacrificed their lives for the sake of medicine."

"..."

"Doctor Stiles! We've located the last child!"

"Come on, Angie. Let's stop GUILT once and for all."

The Final Operation has no briefing. Angie does not appear. It is time for Derek to realize how far he's come from the Doctor that was ready to walk out on a dying man to go about his own business.

"If I focus on that, I can use my skills to help them. So I won't lose sight of that. It doesn't matter where I am, or what I'm doing...:"

(Music: Judgement Day)

(Watch this operation: Final Mission, S Rank.)

All of you, congrats on reading through the whole damn LP. Final Boss, anyone?

"I think that's true. No matter what the circumstances, people will choose to go on living. That's why doctors exist. Medical science is changing and adapting, just like human history. I'm sure the people will look back and see GUILT just as another part of history...:"

Let's begin.

"...A footnote."

True to Atlus tradition, this final boss does not fuck around. It is a challenge unlike anything else in the game, and entirely up to your own strength of will. If you don't dedicate yourself to defeating this boss, you'll never gather up the skill.

There is a good chance you won't be able to keep up with the small bugs this time: your priorities should be Nest, Vitals, Bugs, in that order. Don't worry about them if you can't handle it, just prepare for a slightly longer middle phase. As well, forget they exist after the web is finished.

As difficult as it is at first, all versions of Savato have some sort of glitch that make it laughable. In Second Opinion, for example, if you press "Z" or "C" at exactly the time the scalpel melts, it will restore it enough to make one more cut. However, I won't be showing you Under the Knife's big glitch yet. If you can beat this level with your own talent and not the work of a glitch, that's what is most important. You wouldn't want to go into the X Missions unprepared, would you?

So I'll leave that story for another day.

But for now, here's a secret I will tell you: pouring Antibiotic gel on Savato during this part will stop its movement for five seconds. You should know by now to put that shit on everything. Otherwise, don't stay long here.

Three, two, one..

Zero.

Oh, Savato! It's so cute how unwinnable you think you are!

"We've eradicated Savato. Let's finish up here."

"GUILT has been destroyed, once and for all..."

And with that, I've S-Ranked every mission in Story Mode. The S-Rank requirement for that level is to finish before the clock runs out, and to restore the heart to normal when time is stopped.

"You did it, Doctor."

"I couldn't have done it without your help."

"Do you think it's over?"

"We saved all seven children, but there's one thing left to do."

"Oh..."

"We have to uncover the truth behind GUILT!"

Tomorrow: Face to face with the Lord of Plagues... and the eighth and final GUILT.

???: "Great Job, Dr. Stiles...!"
