Part 35: Chapter 4, Part 20

We're done with this horrible nightmare. Even though it probably didn't seem like a horrible nightmare to many of you, I can assure you that it was. Let's get off this island before Hythloth mindrapes me again.

Nothing important on the trip back. The rats may have respawned but the treasure sure didn't! Yay!

Raven told us to talk to her at Samhayne's house once we were finished on New Magincia, so we should probably do that. I cast the light spell so you guys can see what I'm doing.

Before moving on we need to rearrange our inventory a bit.

I took all of the spells off the quickbar, ditched all of our extra potions and collected all of the cash loot and quest items we had sitting on the ground. I did this for reasons that are probably connected to my newfound insanity.

: Ah, the Avatar! My informants tell me our shipping lanes are returned to us. Many thanks.

: I thank you for your thanks, and come to conclude our bargain.

: Yes, the book... unfortunately there's been a slight hitch.

[Sounds of laughter]

: Huh?

: That's certainly one way to put it.
: Remember me?

[Sounds of fighting]

: Ow.

: How could you?
: We had no choice.
: Yes, yes, yes. Enough idle chit-chat.

: Ow.
: Also ow.

: You didn't say anything about...

: Silence! I have an old score to settle with this one.

: I believe this one belongs to you!

: Another ow.

I don't know guys, I don't think getting stabbed through the hand with a knife is a fair trade for taking someone's eye.

Throwing in a book of ultimate knowledge should about cover the difference!

: But... the Codex was not part of the deal!

: Payment for your trouble.

That's our backpack and equipment, so it's actually quite a competitive offer.

This is no time to be making jokes, people! We've been captured by the enemy!
