War in the East

by Grey Hunter

Part 78

It looks like the Finns are not going to be moving much further forwards, except in the north where I'm continuing to push south unopposed.

Things are getting so bad up here that the Russians are having to use Artillery Divisions to hold me back! I'm over the river however, and things are looking good for continued advances.

Here 9th Army continues with its shattering local attacks. The Russians must be bled dry with these minor assaults.

We even make a few advances, but on the Red Army is well dug in at Kaluga.

4th Army sees the enemy before them melt away. They will return, but we strip more men from their units.

6th Army makes a hole, the Russians are unable to stop OUR winter offensive, as we pay them back in kind for last year.

We liquidate the pocket, and another 50,000 men are captured, along with hundreds of tanks.

I shift my Panzers westwards. They will be needed for the drive north.

Its slow movement in this weather.

I do trap two Mechanized Corps though.

I'm not going to need the fortified zones, so I'm going to disband them all.

Some of the defenders of Baku give up without much of a fight.

Baku itself seems very well protected.

There is still a gaping hole in their line.

I also think I see my next encirclement target.

The two Mechanized Corps are still trapped.

Another 111,000 Russians are removed from the Red Army rolls, I'm a little annoyed at the extra three men breaking my neat streak.

This still has no effect on their numbers.

The replacements are still keeping up with our losses, so all it good.

The Fuel supplies continue to look good.

I so want to pinch off what shall now be known as the Moscow Salient.
