War in the Pacific

Part 495: Operational Report: 15/04/43

The Thresher slips into the middle of a Japanese fleet and puts two working torpedoes into the side of the Nagara.

The Shanghai express have a very bad day, not only do they miss their targets, but they also lose two planes – making these the first planes shot down over mainland Japan.

The carriers have another day of bombing Eniwetok, but the damage, as always is negligible.

I'm amazed at the amount of hammering the Japanese forces at Kiangtu can take, their losing tens of squads a day and continue to put up a fight.

Not much to report today, the carrier strike on Rabaul will take some time, as the new Hellcats are taking some time to prepare.

Its one of those days that even intelligence can't be bothered to make anything up.
