Part 48: Turn 51 - 17th June 1944
The bridgehead comes under attack once more.
We put the hurt on them.
That's right, lose those men.
The whole line is battered, but holds.
27 more Panthers down. They lost a lot more tanks in that push than we did!
Bomber command seems to have gone off bombing, you know, cities.
The Mighty Eighth is still at work though.
Commence Liquidation of the pocket.
Germans must proceed to POW camps in an orderly fashion. Venice is to well defended and will have to wait until next week.
Onward men!
I house this brigade through the Italian countryside.
Make the hole bigger.
And bigger.
Time to send in the armour.
Oh look, I just surrounded three more divisions. Oh dear, how does this keep happening?
This is a bit risky, but I bet the Germans don't have the ability to attack any of these armoured divisions.
The infantry race to keep up with the tanks.
The South Africans continue to find no resistance they hit the coast and cut of three divisions worth of troops as long as my guys can interdict the ports. Seeing as these are the only ports they have left on the south of France, That may be something of a problem.
I can't attack, but I'm happy for them to batter themselves against my men for a bit.
A good haul of heavy tanks this week.
