Part 85: Turn 88 - 3rd March 1945
That's not where I would have thrown my tanks to reconnect Berlin.
The 9th armoured are routed by a sustained German attack. This is going to be a black stain on the units record.
Hold the line.
We hold, but at cost.
Fuck Berlin.
Presses Big Red Button
I unleash a version of hell.
North East Berlin falls quickly.
Outnumbered, battered by constant air raids and cut off, South Berlin falls as well. In a bunker somewhere a gunshot rings out.
The game then shows this for about 2 mins.
The War in the West has been won! Germany Surrenders!
Lesson learned, I should have been bombing the u-boats and V-weapons I didn't know about the point loss for them, but still, this is a stunning victory!
Let me be the first to extend two fingers to Stalin.
See you later suckers, I'm off to get drunk.
* for any non UK people, two fingers in this direction is similar to a single finger, I'm not sure at what point they convinced him to reverse it.
** As a militant Teetotaler, I will not be getting drunk. Also its 4:35am.
The built in graphs show when it all went wrong for Germany.
This shows that due to the rapid advances, my men have spent most of the war low on supplies. The Red Ball Express must have several books written about it.
I think this one is the best introduction to the series for a new player, as the campaign builds up from a small start, and the air ops are not as bad as people have said in my opinion. The main thing is stopping the AI trying to ground attack useless parts of the front.
I'll be playing the Germans as a video LP at some point (I have another game lined up after WITE but it will be the next after that.) My next text LP will be Rule the Waves 2, which releases on the 24th of this month, so the LP will most likely begin May 1st. I'm still waiting on FNG V3 when I plan to run another goon in command LP.
If there are any other games you would like to see me LP, let me know! I'm always up for a challenges, and I need to do a PVP game at some point to show how bad I really am!
Thank you for reading this, and thanks again to all those who contributed to the go Fund me to allow me to purchase the game and do some much needed computer upgrades. 3 screen helps a lot doing this kind of thing!
