So, in an alternate world, why would we really be off to kill ol' Blackhand?

blip.tv, Viddler, or Youtube

Yup, in Warcraft: O&H the orcs are playing true to their strengths: Blackhand weak. You strong. SMASH. This is why Ogrim Doomhammer was the quintessential badass; he actually thought this way (although I'm sure that's been retconned).

Anyway, on to business.

First things first, the schedule is all sorts of whacky because of power outages, children that require learnings, and an upcoming convention, so I've had my hands full. So this weekend you're all treated to the Lore you should have gotten earlier this week. What's in store for later? I haven't the faintest.

Now then, as for the events of Blackrock Spire (or "Black Rock Spire"), Doomhammer was an opportunist, and saw his opportunity in the death of Medivh. You see, when Lothar, Khadgar, and Garona beat the tar out of Medivh, Gul'dan, was probing his mind for the location of the Tomb of Sargeras. You see, Medivh used that as his leverage to push the orcs forward, and was holding it as his trump card, so Gul'dan kept constant tabs on the archmage. When he saw Lothar and company arriving at Medivh's doorstep, he panicked and delved into Medivh's mind to get it personally. What happened when Medivh was killed?

We can safely assume that it wasn't good.

With the death of Medivh, and Gul'dan still probing his mind, the warlock was thrown into a deep coma, and thus useless to help Blackhand. Doomhammer, smart motha' that he is, betrayed Blackhand and turned against him. It's never really discussed (not anywhere that I know of, anyway) how Doomhammer did this. Since Ogrim is assumed to be the chieftain/player in Warcraft: O&H, it's most likely that Doomhammer took his forces straight up to Blackrock and murdered everyone before doomhammering Blackhand.

I still prefer the idea of the very literal backstab with the doomhammer.

So that's what that part's for!

Doomhammer, now in control of the orcish hordes (because that's how these things work) made sweeping changes so that his people couldn't be controlled any more, but we'll see more on that next time.

I WILL SEE YOU THEN.
