Bonus Update 41.5: Castle Kalindra, Dungeon of Lost Souls

The Eagle's song probably sounds like Hotel California. :P

"They stab it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill the beast" is an accurate portrayal of what fighting a minotaur is like.

Anyway, all three options picked up some votes this time around, but northeast has enough of a lead that I'm comfortable calling it. As usual, let's take a moment to look over the territory we've covered in the last couple of updates.

If you thought I was exaggerating about the amount of damage Dragon Mummies can do, there it is in black and white. When they hit people, people die. It might be best to avoid them, since you can get all the treasure in the dungeon without messing with them at all.

Castle Kalindra isn't too difficult to navigate, as long as you look for fireplaces and press the buttons on them to open up passages. There aren't any traps or hazards apart from the monsters locked away in the dungeon, so you're free to explore at your leisure.

Having a reasonably high-level party with access to strong magic is almost mandatory if you plan to explore this dungeon: it's one of the most difficult areas in Xeen, surpassed only by the endgame and postgame dungeons.

(ominous musical sting)

See you next time, when the party fills out the northeastern quadrant of Darkside's map!
