Introduction
Vampire: The Masquerade is an early 90s tabletop Roleplaying Game created by White Wolf studios. In the game, the characters are newly created vampires who discover the dangers of Unlife and must control their inner "beast", the predator's instinct. Wikipedia says:
"The game uses the cursed and immortal Vampiric condition as a backdrop to explore themes of morality, depravity, the human condition (or appreciation of the human condition in its absence), salvation, and personal horror. The gloomy version of the real world that the Vampires inhabit, called "The World of Darkness", forms an already bleak canvas against which the stories and struggles of characters are painted. The themes that the game seeks to address include retaining the character's sense of self, humanity, and sanity, as well as simply keeping from being crushed by the grim opposition of mortal and supernatural antagonists and, more poignantly, surviving the politics, treachery and often violent ambitions of their own kind."
tl;dr : + =
I don't care about the background, what's the game about ?
VTM Redemption is a Hack & Slash, a highly narrative Diablo clone. You click, you kill, you pick up stuff, etc. BUT there is one big difference in the fact that you are playing as a vampire, implying management of blood pool, frenzy and other funny details. Created by Nihilistic Studios, VTM R didn't get a lot of attention and quickly disappeared in the abyss of gaming and I think it's a damn shame. Here are some reasons why you should care:
-A great narration, serious plot and a real ambiance
-
-Awesome music and witty dialogues
-A good variation on the classic Diablo-like gameplay
Ok, so what is the story about ?
The game follows the path of Christof Romuald, a French Crusader who happens by a twist of fate to start hunting vampires in the Middle Age city of Prague. Soon, Vampiric society sees him as a potential recruit and he is turned into one of the Kindred. While being a badass undead crusader, Christof has also fallen in love with a human nun, who quickly become the centre of a massive power play. Follow Christof and his companions through different places and different eras to discover how this doomed romance will end.
It's called Let's Play but you seem to be the only one to play...
As the game is strongly plot-driven, it appeared that a subtitled video LP was a good way to immerse the viewers in the game BUT:
-The game offers two endings which are affected by your moral choices in the game.
You can either choose to be a saint or a total bastard . I'll choose the corresponding choices. You can vote until the third update.
-After each "dungeon", you will tell me how to use experience points: which powers to buy, which characteristics to improve, etc. Don't worry, I will explain all the choices possibles in time.

Half's Historical notes (reading them will make you smarter ):
-There was no archbishop in Prague until the 14th century, until then it was just a bishop.
-The only cathedral in Prague was built in the 14th century. St.Thomas is not its patron saint and it's on the other side of the river.
Golden Lane was built in the 16th century.
-The University of Prague was founded in the 14th century.
-The construction of the Judith Bridge did not start until 1158
-In 1141, the ruler of Prague was Vladislaus II., not Otakar. Also, he was not a king at that time, only a Duke of Bohemia. He later gained the title of King, but that was not until 1158.
-The tale of the golem of Prague, is also a more recent invention, dating from 18th century and set in the 16th century.
-And finally, Libuše, or Libussa in German, is one of the legendary ancestors of the Premyslid dynasty, credited with founding Prague in the 8th century and also with being a prophet.
