Introduction
So why exactly are you playing these games?
Despite the overall reaction on the net, I enjoy most of these games (Shadow just for the sheer so-bad-its-good factor). Sure, these are bad to mediocre Sonic games but not the worst things the industry has spewed out. Still playable by all means (I had no trouble from what I can remember, though I'll find out again with this LP) and I just happen to know a fair bit of knowledge about this franchise, from the usual stuff to the random tidbits. Since my style of LPing is being informative, this will work in my favor.
Okay then. What's the plan?
Well the order will be Sonic Adventure 1, 2 and Heroes. Shadow will be its own thread. Riders is a possibly why?: the story mode is so short so it'll take like 2-4 videos to wrap up + to show those just how things are in the game. It'll be included with the Heroes portion.
So will you be doing the Chao gardens?
Chao gardens are a maybe. As of now, it's too early to bother with them and if we move to SA2 so soon, most of the chao in SA1 would be pretty much forgotten. So it's a "just wait and see" kind of thing at the moment.

So after the success from reviews and fans alike (at the time), a sequel was bound to happen. Several Sonic Team devs moved to San Francisco where Sonic Team USA was formed, and SA2 development started right away. With it's original announement, there were reports that there were meant to be only 3 playable characters (Sonic, Knux, Eggman) instead of the 6 we get in the final. Hell, Knuckles just seems to pop up where ever, but hey. We got Pumpkin Hill, so I"m not complaining.
This also marks the introduction of everyone's favorite black hedgehog, Shadow, as well as treasure hunter and secret agent, Rouge (formerly Nails the Bat. Puns!). Along with them, we're introduced to the world's military, the Guardian Units of Nations or just GUN. You don't really see any GUN agents aside from Rouge (in this game), but you'll see a lot of mechs and random boxes with their logo slapped on it.
SA2 and SA2:B were developed around the same time so each game basically plays the same aside from a few details:
- Any instants of Big the Cat were removed from the GC version. To this day, nobody knows why.
- Characters were updated with some updated textures and lighting
- More options and all characters were available from the start in 2P mode
- All the free DC DLC is not available but some of it is still there as unlocks.
- Any 2P characters that had to be unlock were available from the start and have their own stats.
The LP will be a 100% run, showing all the game has to offer, including some Dreamcast only unlocks in some form. Helping me along will be Fighter Knuckles along with a 3rd guest.
Will I bother more with Chao this time? Probably. If the thread wants to, I can let you guys decide on how to raise one of the little guys. If not, well I at least have a backup chao for the emblems.
