Part 205: Chapter 205

Are there any items other than the emerald that we haven't tried to carry into the emerald room? If so, try carrying any of those into the room.
There are a bunch, although the only thing that we know emits light is the lamp and that doesn't fit. If you want to try specific other items, you can make a list and I'll go through them. We're about to try the bottle based on the other set of suggestions:

Well, we can't get through with the flashlight and the emerald provides no light. We either stumble about blindly in the darkness hoping to find that the path is navigable, or we need to find another light source. I actually lean towards the former, as this game is just demented enough to have that be a puzzle. Unless we can bottle whatever the phosphorescent stuff is in the plover room. Or unless 'plover' is a magic word.
... let's try those two (magic word and bottling whatever's glowing in that room).
In that order? Okay.

Nothing happens.
Intriguing.

Alcove
You are in an alcove. A small northwest path seems to widen after a short distance. An extremely tight tunnel leads east. It looks like a very tight squeeze. An eerie light can be seen at the other end.
>drop all but bottle
emerald the size of a plover's egg: Dropped.
set of keys: Dropped.
dwarvish axe: Dropped.
black rod with a rusty star on the end: Dropped.
brass lantern: Dropped.
[Your score has just gone down by five points.]

Something you're carrying won't fit through the tunnel with you. You'd best take inventory and drop something.
Looks like we can't get the bottle in there.

Darkness

Darkness
It is pitch dark, and you can't see a thing.
>feel walls
You can't see any such thing.
>feel floor
You feel nothing unexpected.
>fumble around
That's not a verb I recognise.

Can't seem to fumble around too well, either. What would you like to try next?
