In Hall of Mists

This is an important area, so let's burn a little space showing a big picture of it. (This is an actual picture of the real room in the cave, although you can't see the north and south exits easily.)
A dome is a hemispherical section of roof that has collapsed into the cave below. It can also refer to the top of a chimney (which is what you call a pit like the one we just climbed down when you're looking at it from below) or the top side of a hemispherical formation, which is what I'd guess we're talking about here.
