You can get pearls from clams, but it's rare. They aren't nacreous and tend not to be worth anything. They are often not even recognizable as pearls to the average person, mostly because they look like balls of frozen snot. The largest such stone known is called the Pearl of Lao-Tzu. It looks like this:
