“The Thug is crippled,” Star Captain Ren Sukhanov commented. It was obvious the disarmed machine was no longer a serious threat but the Star Captain expected one of the less experienced pilots to worry over an easy kill rather than reducing the enemy’s actual combat strength. “Priority target is now the Crab, the new medium-weights, and then the Locusts. As long as that other Assault is content to not advance, I am content to leave it alone. If you can kill a Locust in one shot, take it—otherwise focus on more dangerous enemies.”

“Roger,” one of the Raven `Mechwarriors replied. The Sea Fox pilot remained silent. Sukhanov’s deeply-tanned face contorted in irritation but he held his tongue. Their commands were separate, if the Sea Fox wanted to waste time and get them all killed that was a matter for the Khans. The ancient Mechwarrior found it frustrating. Keeping the commands segregated allowed the Clan warriors to keep their pride—but wasn’t victory more important?

“I grow tired of these Rim Worlders,” Sukhanov growled. “Kill them all, and let us be done with it.”
