Part 1: Episode 1 - 2 coverage
So there's some things that liquidy has missed in Beyond Chaos, and as much as I can groan and scream at him several days after he's played a section, it doesn't mean he'll listen .Here's some of the things that are worth noting.
As mentioned in the video, Whelk and its shell have different drops. In vanilla it's an ether or something that really doesn't justify the effort. He runs out of MP eventually, so Megavolt stops working. The prize for killing the shell is slightly better than his face.
The White Dress is normally picked up later on, it has a nice magic boost, but can only be used by women.
Also, this is the default coloring to the chocobo window.
Now normally temporary party members have their equip screen locked, so you don't get cute and take their dirks and leather armors. You can see their stuff by hitting left when you choose equip, then confirming to see the whole party load out. Just for shits and giggles, nothing worth seeing
seeing
huh. so. how about that local sprots team?
Gendo's Relm squad is interesting too. An Exp. Egg and Genji Shield are the least interesting of the good stuff. Kupop's GP Rain is relic based, so randomized indirectly, not coded into him. A Paladin shield makes me really sad that I can't do 100 fights with this squad to see Ultima sitting there without the MP to cast it. A second Atma Weapon wraps this group up nicely.
The white dress can't be equipped by Chichi, despite supposedly being usable by only women. Gendo is comfortable with his mustached masculinity to take the defense boost. Too bad about the lack of magic attacks to use it with.
Saber is pretty dull, but I'm stripping him anyway to sell or upgrade whoever can use his gear. Kuku, like Wedge is dual wielding despite not having a genji glove. Kupan makes me wish I could fight 255 battles to see if the Cursed Shield/Paladin Shield change is hard coded or not. That'll have to wait I guess.
Since the moogle suit changes Strago and Relm into the moogle sprite, it just changes Relm into Relm. Kurin has an infinite bag of ninja stars. The randomizer just considers anything that has an attack value and considers it a weapon, maybe we'll see someone with a chainsaw later?
Should have pursued more science and seen if its considered long range. But they are as nasty as you expect.
Meanwhile in the Richest Man in Town's dungeon
These are an Enhancer and Mystery Veil, respectively.
No one can yet equip the former, but Viral can gain a couple extra points out of Ifrit. Sadly he can't wear the dress..
These guys are roaming around South Figaro. The flowers are immune to fire. The Garm sprite will drop an orb on your head sometimes, and the rhinos are where flying enemies are supposed to pop up in formations. Without Scan or an earth elemental attack I can't confirm if the randomizer is just tossing enemies in wherever, or if it is smart enough to restrict floating enemies into the sky.
The chest I mentioned in the second video, a hidden path along behind the wall leads to the room. Normally an Atlas Armlet without any fuss
This is considerably more manageable than the monster-in-a-time-box. Both enemies are susceptible to the confuse proc of stone.
All we get is a smoke bomb Also, its around this time that I also learned Shell, the Force Shield still has its spell rate bonus, even if we don't get MP alerts yet.
Poor Frog.
Vargas wasn't was a little different with my R-Nuking. But I want to wait for the next update to say more. Needless to say he was a goner as soon as Hato acted.
This fellow has a counter, don't know if its a random chance, or a counter to a special/spell attack, or a death counter.
While it's a psychedelic recolor of bioblaster, it is directed only at his killer, and over 300HP of damage it is a nasty surprise.
Its been mentioned in other lps, but I wanted to point this out. Normally you have to reject Banon three times to get the genji glove, otherwise you get the gauntlet. However, if you want the glove and to see the drawn out meeting, you can talk to this guy in the back room after rejecting Banon once, he'll hand it over and you can go back out and agree to help Banon. You won't get a second glove if you refuse him though.
And since liquidy left on a cliffhanger, so will I. Look forward to episode 3, it's so interesting, I'll be watching it again despite the fact I need to hear my own voice to do it!
