Part 96: Chapter 6 Delusion Recap

Part 96 - Chapter 6 Delusion Recap

25th Delusion Trigger:

After the earthquake caused by the Second Melt, Shogun messages Takumi, promising to send him a 'present'. Takumi takes this as a warning that Shogun is about to launch an attack. Positive was chosen here.

In the Positive Delusion, Rimi shows up after Takumi calls for help and 'hangs up' on Shogun. Shogun's reprisal for this insult is swift and brutal, however, with Rimi soon dying after her brain is melted by electromagnetic waves from Shogun's kill-sat.

In the Negative Delusion, Takumi hears a knock on the door. But when he checks their identity by calling out Rimi's name, he gets no response. Instead, the one outside starts knocking more forcefully. Soon, they are joined by others, knocking on the sides of the container and even the roof. Then they start scratching at the walls...

In the Neutral Option, Takumi grabs his Di-Sword and tries to unlock it's hidden power. This does not work, because it's a toy sword.

26th Delusion Trigger:

After making his way to school and saving Ayase from her suicidal fall by real-booting a flowerbed (though there are implications that this is the result of Shogun using his power through Takumi), Sena corners him in a nearby park and interrogates him about how he could pull something like that off without a Di-Sword. Neutral was chosen here, where nothing special or extra happens.

In the Positive Delusion, Sena starts kissing him while declaring that she will fight by his side and they must seal the bloodpact and other cliche lines.

In the Negative Delusion, Takumi slaps her to the ground, having finally decided to stick up for himself. He is just about to go further with his 'victory' when the delusion ends.

27th Delusion Trigger:

Takumi returns home, only to receive a message from Shogun inviting Takumi to the 'Nanami-chan Rescue Quest'. Takumi calls Nanami's phone to see if she's okay, only for a phone to start ringing in Takumi's house. The thread chose Neutral here.

In the Positive Delusion, not only is Nanami's phone in the room, so is Nanami. The whole 'Shogun' thing was just a trick she decided to play on her brother one day. Everything is fine.

In the Negative Delusion, the call goes through, but the only person on the other end is Shogun.

28th Delusion Trigger:

Having arrived at the O-Front, Takumi has met 'Shogun' and been informed that if he wants the rest of Nanami returned (alive), he has to do as 'Shogun' says. Shogun bids Takumi to walk out to the edge and greet the audience below. The thread chose Negative here.

In the Negative Delusion, Takumi simply goes with the seemingly logical conclusion and throws himself to his death.

In the Positive Delusion, Rimi yells at Takumi from the ground that she's going to help him. Unfortunately, the crowd below don't take kindly to her declaration.

In the Neutral Option, Takumi looks desperately to the crowd for salvation, and slowly realizes that everyone present either wouldn't care or is actively hoping he dies.

29th Delusion Trigger:

Takumi has found his Di-Sword, but he can't quite reach it. Caught between Shogun's promise to kill Nanami, and the danger of death from falling while trying to reach his Di-Sword, Takumi can't see a way out. The thread chose Neutral here.

In the Neutral Delusion, Takumi (through Seira) argues that he should give up on Nanami on the grounds that Nanami wouldn't thank him for saving her. Indeed, she'd blame him and he'd be ostracized by his family. There's simply no point to risking his life for an ungrateful little sister like that. Right?

In the Positive Delusion, Seira focuses on the potential positives of Nanami's death. The sympathy of the nation, the possibility of getting people to finance his lifestyle out of charity, book deals, even a Movie! All he has to do is give up on his sister and enjoy an easy life. Right?

In the Negative Delusion, Seira's argument is simple self-preservation. If Nanami dies, Takumi will have to live with that the rest of his life. But he will live with that. If Takumi dies, he can't live with anything. If Takumi dies, Nanami might as well be dead, and everything else with her, because Takumi won't know any of it. There's just nothing else for it. Right?
