Now that we're past the (for lack of a better term) "bad end", a few notes about this choice. It seems to be designed so that most players will see that bad end before what you're about to read. First, it's one of a very few questions in the game where the answers aren't scrambled - revealing the lie is always on top. Second - it plays straight into the mystery game trope where every lie has to be exposed and every piece of evidence used. Third - it actually uses the same words as those "do I want to press about this subject farther?" choices in the Phoenix Wright games, where the correct answer is always that you do.

But, once you look past all that, it's easy to realize that in this game, it's all about trust. This choice reflects the fake one in early chapter 4. Back then, the game didn't let you choose to trust Kirigiri, and it ended in disaster. This time, the choice is real. We've spent an entire game with this ??? girl now. Do we trust her? I think we do.

"Running away", by the way, does nothing. It just says you can't, in a boring dialog box that's not even worth translating.
