Part 80: Epilogue
: Come, relax! ...What? You came to say good-bye? I haven't seen you in so long, and you're leaving? Hm? Oh, you heard too? Now that word of my brother's death has spread, the throne can't be left empty forever.
: My brother let me play around for quite a while. If I don't grow up soon, my brother won't be able to rest. The burdens Uther carried as Marquess Ostia, his feelings for the citizenry of Ostia and all of Lycia... I'll succeed him at everything. Easy to say, but I'm sure it's going to be difficult.
: Well if it isn't Art! It's been a long time.
: Ah, but Art's not here for long though. Some friend, eh?
: Oh... That's too bad. Oh yes, Art! We've a favor to ask of you. It's a little bit premature, but... Would you be our first child's godparent? You are the patron to our romance, after all.
: Name? We've already decided on that. We're going to name him Uther after my brother.
: It's my child. It will be a boy! We'll pit him against Eliwood's son to see who's the strongest.
: This is all he ever talks about. Honestly, I don't know if he'll ever grow up. So, Art, if it is a girl...
: Say, Art, do you remember Athos's final words? I sealed Armads away, like it used to be, but... I can still feel its power pulsing inside me.
: When that day comes... I want you to be there when that day comes. I want you to guide my children and me.
: We'll meet again. I'm sure of it!
And the tactician-free version:
: Hey, Eliwood! You made it.
: I would never turn down an invitation from you. So, are you ready? You once told me being the leader of Lycia wasn't for you.
: Well...yes. Now that word of my brother's death has spread, the throne can't be left empty forever. My brother let me play around for quite a while. If I don't grow up soon, he may start screaming at me from the grave.
: Ha ha! You're probably right.
: The burdens Uther carried as Marquess Ostia, his feelings for the citizenry of Ostia and all of Lycia... I'll succeed him at everything. Easy to say, but I'm sure it's going to be difficult.
: Hector... Well, if it isn't Eliwood!
: Well met, Lyndis. You've grown even more fair than when I saw you last.
: Oh... Did you hear that, Hector. That's the biggest difference between you and Eliwood.
: Give me a break.
: Hector may not say it, but more than anyone else, that is what he thinks. Isn't that so, Hector?
: Really?
: Eliwood! You...
: I beg your pardon. Lord Hector, shall we?
: Yeah, OK. Say, Eliwood, do you remember old Athos Graybeard's final words?
: Of course.
: I sealed Armads away, like it used to be, but... I can still feel its power pulsing inside me. War is coming. Someday, a terrible war... When that day comes...
: Mm, I understand. When it comes, we'll fight together. For our future and for our children's.
Finally, the new character endings (and ones we missed due to getting their linked endings):
/ Guy - Mounted Swordsman & Priscilla - Secluded Princess: They fell in love amidst conflict, but Priscilla was a noble, and Guy was but a mercenary nomad. Guy rode away before her tears could stain the earth, though her smile was the brightest thing he ever saw.
/ Kent - The Crimson Shield & Fiora - Wing-borne Warrior: Although they returned to their respective countries, they visited one another often, and their relationship bloomed. When Lyn abdicated Caelin's rule to Ostia, Kent resigned, went to Ilia, and married Fiora.
/ Nils - Child of Destiny & Ninian - Child of Destiny: After these dragonkin bid farewell to the land of their birth, they returned to their new world. Meeting Eliwood warmed the hearts of these ice dragons with the hope that man and dragon could live in peace.
Rath - Wolf of Sacae: Rath returned to his tribe in Sacae. His deeds earned him warm greetings from his father, the famed Silver Wolf.
Geitz - The Wanderer: Geitz resumed his aimless wandering. He still searches for a land that he can finally call his own.
Farina - The Great Wing: Farina far surpassed her duties as commander of the Pegasus Knights of Ilia. Her skill earned her fame, as well as high prices!
Harken - Troubled Warrior: Harken worked closely with Marcus to rebuild the knights of Pherae. They are slowly rebuilding their strength and prestige.
Karel - Saint of Swords: Once, Karel was known as the Sword Demon. Now, he bares a new name. What prompted this change, he will not say.
Vaida - Flying Fang: Some rumors say that Vaida died at the hands of Bern forces. Others say she now serves Bern's Prince Zephiel.
Karla - Sword Vassal: After the conflict, Karla became involved with a warrior she met. She died of an illness several years later.
Eliwood - Knight of Lycia: Eliwood succeeded his father as the marquess of Pherae. His sincerity and clear guidance made him his father's equal in all eyes.
/ Hector - General of Ostia & Lyn - Noblewoman of Sacae: Hector succeeded his brother as the Marquess of Ostia, but the pain of his brother's death weighed heavily on him. His beloved Lyn gave him comfort and helped him become an enlightened leader.
I'm not going to show all the paired endings, but you can find them here, at the bottom of the page. You really should look them up, because some of them are hilarious (Farina/Dart comes to mind).
Finally, depending on your overall rank, you get a different message for what happened to your tactician. If you're really pro and S-rank the game, you get treated to this:
Art - Superb Mind: A tactician whose brilliance changed the course of history. Bern and Etruria so desired this skilled mind that they went to war.
Those...less skilled at the game will probably find themselves with this ending, however:
Art - Suspect Mind: To this day, historians look back and question how these incomprehensible strategies ever led to victory.
