Introduction
Let's Play Fire Emblem Gaiden: Chokepoints and Zerg rushesWhat is this game?
Fire Emblem Gaiden, from now on abbreviated as FE2, is the second of the Fire Emblem games for the Nintendo. Released in 1992, it is quite different from all other Fire Emblem games. The most similar one is probably Sacred Stones, or Fire Emblem 8, but we'll get to that later.
The game itself is a strategic RPG. The main part of the gameplay are turn-based battles, but there are other elements as well like travelling around on world map, managing items, random encounters and exploring towns, just like every other JRPG.
Why do an LP of this game and not some other from the series?
It fulfils the criteria of not being ungodly hard, not requiring two playthroughs to show everything the game offers and being quite enjoyable to play.
I'm going to use a translation patch for playing the game. I've played through the game using the patch with no problems, so if you're interested, you can get the patch here.
