Introduction
Flower, Sun and Rain was directed by Suda51 (No More Heroes, Killer7 etc.) and developed by Grasshopper Manufacture. It was originally released in Japan in 2001 on the Playstation 2. In 2008, it was remade for the Nintendo DS and released in Japan and Europe (finally getting an English localisation). It is due to come out in June in America, according to Wikipedia, though I cannot find any confirmation on this. Update: It's out now in the US! It is somewhat of a sequel to Suda51's earlier game, The Silver Case, which is also set to be remade (and be localised) this year, though very few details are available right now. If this LP goes well, I would like to LP The Silver Case when it comes out.
Flower, Sun and Rain follows the story of Sumio Mondo. Sumio is known as a "searcher", and along with his partner Catherine (his briefcase), he is hired to stop a terrorist from planting a bomb on an airplane, on the island of Lospass. I would describe FSR as a combination of games like Phoenix Wright, Monkey Island and Professor Layton. And a story 89 times as confusing as Metal Gear Solid. It's a Suda51 game, afterall.
As the LP goes on, I will add character profiles as they appear in game.
The guidebook is given to you at the start of the game, by Edo Macalister. It is primarily used to solve puzzles, but there is a considerable amount of backstory for certain characters and the island itself.
