Part 18: Mission #17: Waterworld

I honestly think a hardblow wanzer would be more effective than what I gave you. At least then it could attack and use melee skills and would have a pretty decent boost from the low W/P ratio.
A true professional can make use of even the most unlikely tools. The Aegis Knight has his uses....
Mission #17: Waterworld
: You gonna be okay, man?
: Liu can take care of himself. Don't worry about that now. If we don't hurry, we can't escape...
: That'd suck, man. Alright, everyone, hurry up!
: Ryogo is so funny.
...Sometimes.
And up we go! I'm not exactly sure why we have to destroy the flight deck if we've already broken the hangar and engine room, but I suppose we might as well be thorough.
: The enemy moved from the hangar to the flight deck! The other squad is moving toward the engine room!
: ...Close off each block.
: Closing off each block!
: ...What's the situation?
: We isolated the ones in the engine room, but the other one...!
So you locked in a squad of enemy wanzers in a room with your engines? That's an interesting strategy.
: ...Concentrate the forces onto the flight deck.
: Roger that!
Don't worry, there aren't any operable elevators in this mission...next mission, though...
: They're here. Don't let them get any further!
But there's nowhere further for us to go, my friend, we're exactly where we need to be...
The scale here is a bit weird. This battlefield is essentially the entire surface of the Dagat Ahas, which means that it's split in two with a few narrow bridges holding it together. You'd think the super-fortress would be be a bit bigger, especially given the apparent size of its insides, but maybe the Philippine Army has finally cracked the TARDIS technology.
Beyond that, it's just your typical assortment of Jinyos and Kasels, with a couple of helicopters here to spice things up.
Alisa gets off to a good start by chaining a Skill +1 with a Panic Shot and thus killing a guy almost single-handedly in a single turn.
Oh, and I almost forgot, there's also a sniper around. Ryogo and Miho kill him before he does anything interesting, though.
And Miho takes out the other Jinyo.
And a helicopter...
Meanwhile, one of the Kasels tried to flank us by using one of the bridges. Perhaps he just wants to be friends. Kazuki gives him a playful tackle...
And then Alisa showers him with so many friendship missiles that the enemy decides that he likes us so much that he's going to give us his wanzer for free!
Kazuki is the MVP, if only because I wanted the Berserker to win at least once, and this is its last mission.
: All right, finished here. Hurry up and get out!
: We're outta here!
And our victory celebration begins by blowing up a large chunk of the Dagat Ahas. For an invincible super-fortress, it seems rather flammable.
Next Time: Last Rites for the Secret Agent...
