Part 73: Mission #10: Filler Mission #24
Mission #10: Filler Mission #24Well, we finally made it to Honmon...Honkon....the wharf.
Except, as is traditional in this game, the enemy is several steps ahead of us.
: Target acquired on wharf. Request permission to attack!
: Copy that. We're en route. Delay them until I get there!
: Roger!
: Not them again!?
: Heh, who cares. I'll smash right through them!
: Wait. This is good enough!
: Here!? The port is still a ways! It's better if we get on a ship!
I think Kazuki means 'a way's away,' or something.
: Just do as I say. Start up the wanzers.
: A transport?
: You hid a transport here!? Take off is impossible! Ignore the transport. !
When suddenly, gunfire appears out of nowhere to slow down the enemy wanzers!
: Ghh!
: Who're they?
Hey, I remember this guy! Miho beat him to death outside of Taipei in the last branch. Let's hope this time goes a bit better for him.
: Later. Dennis, We've got unwanted guests.
: I see.
Yet another filler mission. Jinyos and Kasels once again. At this point, you should have already upgraded the HP of your wanzers, so this mission shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Oh, there's a Enyo as well. Also, wrong arm, Emma...wrong arm. The biggest issue with rifles and missiles in this game is that, in other Front Mission games, there was a skill that let you pick which part of the enemy you hit. In this game, no such skill exists, making the use of single-shot weapons a brutal form of roulette. Even a skill like Arm Smash is suspect because it has a 50% chance of hitting an empty arm.
See, now that's a good spread of damage. In Front Mission 3, short-range and melee weapons are king.
Case in point, burst weapons have access to RoF I, which has an incredibly high activation rate, and can combo with itself.
One problem with this game is that, for the enemy at least, the legs and the off-hand can both be used as damage sinks for melee, missile and rifle weapons. Watching Melee III go off only to bust a enemy's legs is a sobering experience to say the least.
And, of course, there's the insane rate of force-ejections, although it hurts the enemy just as much as you, I suppose.
Kazuki eventually breaks the Kasel down.
Emma uses her machine gun to kill the Enyo. I gave Emma a machine gun mainly because rifles suck, and I wanted the extra square of range over a shotgun.
Kazuki blasts another one. Actually, if you guys let Kazuki get a decent number of levels in shotgun, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the results.
I would've gotten platinum if only Kazuki hadn't had to burn a turn getting back into his wanzer...
: We're okay for now.
: So who're they?
: Kazuki and Ryogo. They helped me with the job. Don't worry, you can trust them.
: Okay, come to the warehouse. I'll explain our escape plan.
Next Time: The Gang Gets Racist!
Voting is still open: Mountain or Gate!
