Part 91: Mission #27: Combo Train
Mission #27: Combo TrainThrough the tunnel
: Shh!... Something's coming!
I knew the day would come when man was forced to fight train, but I didn't think it would happen in my lifetime.
: Being hit by something like that is definitely not going to feel good.
: We have permission to fire in the tunnel. All units, engage the enemy!
Yun, Ryogo, Emma and Marcus will be fighting today. This is my second attempt at the mission. The first attempt was a long battle of attrition that I lost, and isn't really worth showing pictures of.
Not that this is a particularly auspicious start, either.
I send Marcus to attack the train. It'll take him virtually the entire battle to actually beat it. He's not exactly a unstoppable beast at melee combat.
And Ryogo gets in a few kills. But, well, there's only one part of this battle that's interesting, and that is Yun taking it to the limit of human achievement.
Impressive.
An excellent follow-up.
And again.
And again.
And once more.
One wanzer erased from existence in but one attack sequence. There is nothing left for me to teach you, Dr. Video Games 0071, you are now a wanzer master. I, of course, am a wanzer god, so I still hold rank over you.
Emma goes in to help poor, dumb, slow, terrible Marcus.
Marcus is managing to find new and exciting ways to get himself killed. It's almost impressive.
In the first try of this mission, Marcus got blown to bits in about three turns. The secret to his survival is keeping him away from every enemy with a ranged weapon. That might not be a sustainable strategy.
Yun sends another Yongsai to its god.
And that'll do it.
I blame Marcus. Yun wins MVP easily.
: Hey, Dennis, how much farther do we have go?
: I'd say we're about mid-way.
: They don't call this the longest underground tunnel for nothing.
Not the catchiest of nicknames.
: I don't want to hear negative talk like that. We can do it.
Next Time: We can't do it.
