Part 92: Mission #27 Bonus: The Biggest Chicago Disaster Since Bartman!
You know, Dr. Video Games, let me answer your complaint about playing time with a little story...Mission #26 Bonus: The Biggest Chicago Disaster Since Bartman!
Kazuki, Dennis, Emma and Marcus are your starting four. Their respective nicknames are "Mr. Glass, No-Shot, Mad Science and Punch Drunk."
Kazuki charged into the think of battle, since he only hard relatively short-ranged weaponry. The enemy responded by showing exactly how weak his wanzer was.
Dennis apparently thought that this was some sort weak wanzer challenge, and promptly had 2/3s of his body HP blasted off in a single blow. A shield could have reduced that damage, but someone didn't give him that opportunity.
Kazuki, however, retakes the shitty wanzer grand prix lead by managing to get mostly killed by a single enemy grunt unit.
But Dennis takes the checkered flag and gets killed when another missile hits him. His body unit is so weak that the second missile could have done 100 less damage and still murdered Dennis.
And Marcus is stuck trying to kill a tank. Less than 200 damage? At this stage of the game? That's just not good enough. He needs a better weapon than the needle you guys stuck him with.
And Kazuki finally succumbs. Let's look at what went wrong, shall we? His body unit is one of the weakest in the game, so he couldn't afford to take any damage, but his short-range weapons made avoiding return fire impossible. He might have been able to overcome that if he dealt enough damage, but his Zenislev arms killed his accuracy, making that impossible. That might have been okay if he had a shield, but he had a baton instead, even though his wanzer was much, much too fragile to be used in melee range. Finally, his crappy legs made escape impossible, as any enemy could easily overtake him and send Kazuki to his maker.
Now, Emma's Science Babe is the strongest wanzer on this map, but it can't really deal with being on the front lines, which, since Kazuki and Dennis are dead, it now has to.
Which brings us back to Marcus. He has a tough wanzer, but it isn't invulnerable, and since he's not doing enough damage, he's taking a lot of hits.
And eventually, he falls, never to rise again.
That leaves Emma, and the Science Babe isn't enough to win the battle by itself, and so down she goes as well.
There, since this failure technically took place before the last update, Yun was only in four missions in a row.
